I wanted to fish today and this hognose wouldn't let me get to my shit and it weirdly blew air at me and kinda jumped towards me at one point and now I'm annoyed

Good to know that these things aren't dangerous.

A farmer had a heart attack and their pet pig ran into the nearby road and played dead until someone followed it back to their owner
I don't know if this considered conscious thoughts, but I think it acted in a completely logical way within it's means, giving credence to higher thought.

They are, but they're rear fang venomous snakes so the pointy bits you have to worry about are in the back of their mouth and mostly used for helping kill prey after they have it coiled up, not while striking, they don't strike easily in the first place, and it's a pretty mild toxin anyway unlikely to do any real harm unless you're allergic.

For most snakes, no, but for a hognose? Absolutely.
Next time you see one play dead try to put it back on its belly. It'll look at you out of the corner of its eye, roll back on its side or back, then stick its tongue out as if to say "no no I'm REALLY dead, like in the cartoons". Shit is genuine hilarious and it's something I've seen toddlers do.
