I see them and think "might be a fun way to get into 120" but having a plastic fixed lens camera of questionable quality would surely make me feel like I'm blowing good film on a toy.

You can buy an old folding camera for less money with infinitely more capability and better glass.

Given how expensive film is there really is no excuse for not spending maybe $20 extra to get something that was actually good when it was first made.

photography is not art. the definition of art was slaughtered, cut up, and rearranged into a vague facsimile of itself that hurts no feelings and denies no pilgrims to make it possible to monetize “art photography”. yet we still find self described artists here.

therefore the real art is in the theatre of the photographer.

Depends. Do you want a camera that does what a Holga does? Then find a cheap one secondhand and have fun with it. Otherwise, just don't get one. It's a one-trick pony, but sometimes that trick is what people want.
