The strategy all along was to win over the hearts and minds of the Muslim world. Hence the “Praise to Allah” comment. Hence losing to Iran. The strategy was genius because ever since the Afghanistan and Iraq invasions Muslims hated America. They now view America as a pink plush crocodile and no longer feel the inherent need to wreck you. That’s a win win.
