>> H.R. 8250 (“To require operating system providers to verity the age of any user of an operating system, and for other purposes.”) has been introduced in the U.S. Congress. Re: The recent introduction of H.R. 8250, the Parents Decide Act, requiring operating system providers to verify user ages at setup and enable parental content controls that apply device-wide. Bipartisan bill sponsored by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and co-sponsored by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) aims to strengthen child online protections, mirroring state-level efforts like California’s A.B. 1043 set for 2027. This move raises concerns over privacy implications, enforcement on non-consumer OSes like Linux servers or IoT devices, and risks of creating persistent identity layers across all computing platforms.
Remember when you faggots said it was just for porn? Remember when you said it would only happen in bongland/the EU and it wouldn't happen here? Only in California? Now a bill is being proposed on a federal level.

They cant, thats the hilarious part. To make something like this work. You either need to ship a ai with the machine that can tell by a photo or sell you a brick that wont run without access to the internet first. The whole thing is disconnected boomer vibes. They dont understand anyrhing about tech and any kid who has enough will power can break these systems. Its not about the kids. Its about control.

>According to AB 1043, OS providers must maintain a "reasonably consistent real-time application programming interface" that categorizes users into four age brackets — under 13, 13 to under 16, 16 to under 18, and 18 or older — and hand that signal to any developer who requests it when their app is downloaded or launched.
The way they wanted to do it with the law in California seems to be by having developers code spyware run on your PC at all times. Considering how always-online new operating systems like Windows 11 are, and how they want you to sign in with a Microsoft account, I think it's likely they might try to tie it to that. But there have always been ways to bypass that, and there are of course older operating systems that people still use. What about devices that don't have cameras? It's retarded beyond belief.

btw after these scumcunt shit push this tage then vpn and alike are next

they can't because everything on your PC is free speech of a printing press. every law they've psuedo passed about regulating anything on your printing press is unconstitutional garbage. so what if your printing press simulates neurons. ohh noo so fucking scary it looks like thought soup.

I'm just trying to operate off the same level of retardation that other American companies are. Look at Roblox if you want an example. The way they verify their users ages is by having them take a photo of themselves or their ID and having an AI decide the age.

There's no hope here. As much as I would like to be optimistic, most Americans are completely brainraped niggercattle that will go along with this, with a few that attempt to resist, similar to COVID.
>should kinda follow these tech news since lot has been happening during past few months and it is picking up speed
I've been doing just that and it's remarkable how much they are trying to do behind the scenes since most people generally don't pay attention to these things until it directly affects them.

I predicted all of this a couple of years ago. Fact of the matter is, the Internets have evolved past being a toy. Now it's the main economic superhighway, and the bandits and degenerates and lawlessness of it was always going away.
There will be street lamps, and cops and no more skulking about in the shadows.

The Old Folks are tired of all the shenanigans on the internet. They are tired of having their credit cards misappropriated, they are tired of their grandkids being exposed to unregulated filth, they are plain tired of hooligans.
