Most accurate assessment of the thread. You can tell that Triple Paul is a guy who has spent the grand majority of his life in a corporate setting. It was always about production meetings and micromanagement from a relatively early point in his career. At home he's married to a corporate minded woman, in a corporate minded family. He was never truly one of the boys, was a straight edge guy who didn't mingle much with the rest of the troublemakers, most of whom didn't trust him past a certain point, which means he doesn't have as many chaotic things to pull from his memory. He just doesn't have the sharpness and literal insanity that embodies what draws most people into wrestling, especially the kind of people who loved learning about all the shit that happens backstage. The stuff that he has been putting on TV for the past 10 or so years is nothing but a 100% logical end to this.
He's the perfect guy to take charge of the uber-corporate dullard version of WWE that we have right now, from Tko's perspective I mean. He won't rattle many cages upstairs, he won't cause much trouble with the talent, he's not very tight about what he can and cannot do with the show, he's not going to cause any scandals...etc. He's got enough sense and enough historical knowledge to know what generally works, and he can manage people. That's enough to keep a billion dollar generating machine going, for the benefit of all parties involved. The fans don't matter much in this equation because they're just marks, and they will keep coming over as long as everything is perfectly adequate and as long they will have a good time.

Lol i was gonna say both but yeah this is pretty much it, when it comes to pro wrestling Hunter is a legitimate genius or at least close to it, the way he got the most out of his rather subpar skillset is testament to this, plus a lot of guys backstage vouch for how he helped fine tune their gimmicks and best storylines and he’s had too many legitimately great moments no matter how much you hate him as a wrestler, black and gold NXT was kind of insane as a concept, dude ran a large scale indie fed within the WWE that changed pro wrestling and launched the rise of AEW

However he’s a retard as a storyteller plain and simple, too slow, too boring, too generic, no creativity or real sauce- simply plays it safe or tries to hard too subvert which are the biggest marks of hack writers, his presentation also sucks and is either over the top and not flashy enough- he’s too narcisstic to see anything outside of the lens of his own career and it handicaps him severely as a creative.

Oh and course the politicking from literal who to booker of WWE is machcievlian genius tier shit- but it’s looking he was a dummy surrounded by bigger dummies
