And /pw/ still didn't post about Cody attacking McAfee's TV set.
The feud is officially Orton-less, dimeless, fumbleful:

There were several people on this board who rejected the idea of Ted Jr. being brought in to do a Legacy-based angle with Orton and Cody
Welp, looks like you guys got your wish. Congrats

Seems that the hour-long story recap didn't get all of this latest event

WrestleMania is a 2-night show. It’s fine to have a little diversity between your two main events. They don’t both HAVE to be clean stories about the wrestlers.
And the more I settle into this McAfee angle, the more I realize it’s simply designed to draw mainstream ESPN sports eyeballs onto one of the main events. It doesn’t need to make sense or be “good,” lol. It just needs to get people talking who don’t normally watch wrestling. Especially because it’s Cody again. Cody’s “real” story was already told at WM40. Now that we’re into the “sequels,” it’s pretty typical to add a few gimmicks and shenanigans to keep people interested in the same character.
The OTHER main event is the one that needs to be purely about wrestling.
Given all that, the only “mistake” that was made was when Punk inexplicably mentioned Pat in HIS promo, which unnecessarily (and thankfully temporarily) dragged Pat into that storyline. Thankfully, they let it go and didn’t mention it again for the final Punk Roman promo, because as long as one Main Event stays all about wrestling, I don’t really have a problem with the other Main Event being more of a circus spectacle with mainstream crossovers.
In short, it’s fine. It’ll probably have a silly ending, but who cares.

>it’s simply designed to draw mainstream ESPN sports eyeballs onto one of the main events
Then they should have paid Tom Brady whatever the fuck amount he asked for during negotiations, because that would have been the only thing to salvage the feud once Pat got into it

They delayed or canceled this podcast so he could piss off Randy's manager

>They don’t both HAVE to be clean stories about the wrestlers.
They don't have to be, but THIS one had to be. Cody and Randy is the story we've been waiting for them to tell since Randy came back from his injury, and to see them bring in all this outside shit instead of the history of these two men, is just disgusting.
>>
>>20249212
they had to do all this outside shit because the history of them is boring and has no hype.
>Randy you used to be my hero and mentor, but now you're evil!
Exact same boring story they did last year with Cena

Logan Paul already dogwalked Tom Brady in flag football

What you retards fail to understand is that pat is necessary because nobody sees orton as a heel, they'll never boo him no matter what he does. Pat is just a proxy heel to get some heat. But marks gonna mark I guess.
>>
>>20249233
WWE always looks like a joke. Wrestling is a joke carny industry. People on the "outside" will always laugh and joke about wrestling and no one ever takes it seriously. It is pathetic how much the fact they like retarded childish entertainment pisses smarks off and they have to pretend a bunch of roided up guys in their underwear pretending to fight each other is actually some high sophisticated art form because they're too far up their own ass to just admit they like a trashy TV show.

Except the absolute truth is no one truly cares about the Legacy faction (a faction that was supposed to be the spiritual successor of Evolution, which also was a faction that didn't have any drawing/nostalgic 'legacy' either) and ultimately Randy Orton is not a real draw.
The history of these two men is that they were together in a faction that was supposed to elevate Ted/Cody in which it failed to do. It drew no money, sold no tickets, and had no mention UNTIL it comes here as some lore callback for imagined depth.
>>
>>20249274
So instead of a lore callback/imagined depth, we'll settle for having both wrestlers be backed by some cracked-out singer with a stupid name and an ex-NFL player, both who we've already seen in WWE many times before. Gotcha

Pat's said multiple times if Randy loses, he'll never do anything with the WWE again. Only way Randy loses is if Pat is generating genuine backstage heat, and everyone is willing to say fuck you, get gone.

Except the truth is the angle kicked off to big fanfare and huge views and ratings and attendance were going up and fans were positive about the product again. I think the Pat stuff is starting to work, but the it started had a big negative effect.

>Randy, I wanna talk about our dads for a moment
>You see ladies and gentlemen, my father the late great Dusty Rhodes spent an awful long time wrestling Randy's father the late great Bob Orton
>I grew up hearing stories about your dad Randy, and they were nothing short of magnificent
>I remember the time when I asked Dusty about that moment in the ring when his muffler shot out and nobody could find it, and he said to me "Naow kiid, Cowbwoi Bawb Orton nevva, and I mean nevva in his God blessed life, would let that happen without meaning to"
>Because your dad's a man of intent Randy
>He would set out goals for himself and achieve them, and if you didn't stop him he'd set goals for you and make you achieve them too
>God willing, you did... God help you if you didn't
>Randy your father was great, but I must admit, mine was the better father
