Sting was Ultimate Warrior if he could work and wasn’t a mark. He was a roided out bodybuilder with an electric personality, but actually had the cardio and stamina to work Carolina 60 minute draws and could do all the big spots, had an awesome moveset.

Late 80s, early 90s beach bum surfer Sting IS Sting. That’s him at his most primal, watch his matches with Flair, Vader, etc. He’s a terrific pro wrestler. If you don’t like the Crow, I can’t really offer any dissuading of opinion, other than besides that first year until after the match with Hogan at Starrcade, “Crow” Sting isn’t really based on “The Crow”. After that year he just becomes Sting again, except with a new, edgier look, which I personally think looks badass. Joker Sting is a whole different animal, and you can thank the talented minds at TNA for that.

I personally think I’d rate Sting over The Undertaker, and the only reason Taker is ranked so high is because his character was so excellent and that he was in the WWE full time around the biggest of names, including himself. If Sting was in the WWE as a Vince creation, he’d be at the top of everyone’s lists too.

Now I love a good turbo-vanilla indie midget. Alex Shelley, Roderick Strong, Paul London, Matt Sydal, those are some of my favorite wrestlers. I'll watch any AEW show if there's a PAC match on it, hell Ciampa's been surprisingly decent there too.

I agree anon. I stopped watching NXT when the RoH guys were brought in. Like you, I enjoy the indie style but these guys were far too boring.
In a similar vein, I hate the Young Bucks. Their acrobatics are impressive and fun to watch, but their comedy is so bad it pushed me away from matching their matches for the most part. I never got the hype for them, even when the IWC saw them for favorably. I remember thinking they were cool as Generation Me when I was a kid but I really can’t stand them today.
