Jeff Jarrett sure as hell was. It's a shame because he was having a great year and could still go shockingly well in the ring. He was over too. Then MJF just had to do what MJF always does and shit things up with his super edgy low hanging fruit promo shit. Which the crowd more than fairly shit all over. For some reason Jarrett was the one they used as the scapegoat there. Not sure why he's even still with them after that. I'd say fuck y'all and walk the first chance I had if I was him

Doesn't matter the decade, Jeff Jarrett is simply unacceptable in the main event position. Nothing against him personally, but that's just what everyone thinks when they see him wrestling.
He's not one of "THE guy(s)" he's just a guy.

Still waiting on the full story of that hurt business storyline falling apart but the dirt sheets won’t touch it with a ten foot pole because it makes Tony look bad when his toys won’t play nice together and he is seemingly powerless to do anything about it

Right, if you read between the lines it seemed like the story would be MJF joins the faction, there’s friction due to the fish out of water aspect, they kick MJF out leading to his face turn, and he beats Bobby in the blow off match. But Bobby balked at ever jobbing to a Jewish midget. At which point MJF said in that case I’m not wasting another second with this bullshit and it as abruptly dropped. My point was, that’s an interesting story that reveals a lot about the power dynamics between some of their top names, and whether Tony has the stroke to make people job when they don’t want to. Instead we got a vague tweet about some unnamed wrestler not wanting to do it anymore, and it was never touched again.

That's not some black and white dichotomy thing anon. Just because people are smart and recognize the business being exactly that doesn't mean they don't care at all about the rest of it. Jarrett is generations deep into wrestling. It's in his blood and in his family. The guy loves this shit and of course even if he knows business is business he's still passionate and can take things to heart. There was a clip of him and his cohost putting the pieces together over why his angle got scrapped and the poor guy seemed pretty upset

Agreed. MJF dragged it too low and backed Jarrett in a lose/lose corner where he either had to retaliate and take cheap shots too or look like a bitch and it killed the entire program. Like the other anon said Jarrett was actually over going into that too which is a crazy thing to say in general no less about the guy in 2025. One MJF segment was all it took to completely ruin that

Jarrett's promos in that feud were fuckin' dogshit, man. His story was kinda over in the sense of, even if nobody on the planet actually wanted him to win the title, people wanted to see him get a title shot. But his promos were so awful, he turned the crowds against him basically immediately.

When Dax had his podcast, yes I know it’s Dax, he said MJF was a massive pain the ass to work with when they were in The Pinnacle. He didn’t want anyone else in the group to speak during promo’s including fucking Tully who’s entire purpose was to cut promo’s. And that he would actively politic behind everyone else’s back. The Hurts have been around long enough to likely have seen that coming a mile away.

>on Oprah as a kid, parents clearly had connections
>hes prob seen shit (look at her Brazil pal)
MJF is a stealth nepobaby. He is literally & literally HHH. Him burying people when its his fault is just the modern entertainment industry.

100%. Jarrett is legit the most underrated talent of all time- everyone else put forward for that label is by definition being rated higher by being put in the conversation more.
>>20253093
Wrong. If you have the right angle to get the crowd onside for it, ANYONE can be a main eventer. Jarrett had both, MJF flubbed, AEW blamed Jeff instead of just skimming over and fixing it.

I'm doing a rewatch marathon, currently in 1993 and just by his vignettes I can already feel the go away heat pouring through my screen, holy fuck was this guy ever good besides that time he smashed a black midget with a guitar backstage?
>>
>>20253102
he didn't overpush himself it's just that the tna belt was safest in his hands because ex-wwe guys would go back at the first opportunity and fuck up his booking so they wanted to establish their "home grown" guys first until they were ready

>Oprah
that's an excellent point. most jews don't get on oprah. definitely more to that

It was not the best move for business or storylines and AEW fans were going to kick and scream all throughout it.
But it would have been good. Jeff is a good promo and a good face. MJF is a good heel.
I'm probably the only person who was disappointed that we didn't get it.

Going off everything else that anon posted, his severe stupidity
>>20253866
it's this
>>20259235
He was not cutting good promos in that feud
>>
>>20255355
Usually when they do an angle of somebody getting kicked out of a stable, it’s the individual that turns instead of the faction. And yes turning MJF face is stupid just in general, but this is the same company that turned him face to run a Face vs Face feud for the main event of their biggest show of the year.
