It's the year 20XX. The discovery and creation of Minovsky Particles has allowed resulted the rapid advance of countless technologies the likes of which the world had never seen before. However, no field was more effected by the discovery than the field of "Mecha Model Building".
Through introducing Minovsky Particles into already existing VR Boards, humans were able to finally make the dream of countless Mecha Otaku a reality: Bringing the models they build as a hobby to life...so they can brawl!
Thanks to this, an entirely new hobby has emerged. One where people of all ages take their models into game stores, schools clubs, and even international tournaments across the world. Where they bring their models and battle against each other in high octane, emotionally charged battles, where the winner takes all!
Their reasons for fighting are as wide as the ocean. But every single person, called Battlers, shares one thing: Their passion for the sport, the love for their hobby, and the drive to prove themselves the best of the best.
And here, in this Quest, you will be one of them.
>TL;DR: This is a Quest set in a world similar to the Gundam Build Fighters Universe. However, instead of it only being about Gundams and Mecha from Gundam Series, this is more akin to a Super Robot Wars Universe. Which means both Real and Super Robots from across time are part of this Setting and able to be used in battle.
>Note: I am no way a Loremaster in regards to Mecha Anime/Manga/Whatever. I have seen quite a few Mecha Animes, read a few Mecha Manga, and played through at least two SRW games while reading Let’s Play of about 4. I know some things but I don’t know a lot. So, forgive me if I have to Wiki up certain bots that I may not know of.
>This Setting is technically “Original” in that there isn’t really a version of it in any kind of Official Media. However, it’s still not and in Fanfic territory as the world is similar to the Gundam Build Fighters World. I.E. It’s basically Heaven for all the characters from various Real Robot and Super Robot Animes/Mangas/Whatever. So, don’t expect this Quest to get super-duper dark or anything like that. It’s gonna be Shonen Style from start to finish.
>Basic Rules: We’re primarily going to be using 1d100, Bo3, with bonuses based on narrative circumstances. Higher = Better with DC usually being there but hidden; I’ll keep the votes open for about 20 or so minutes; Write ins are allowed, but might not always be used; No specific time when I'll run. I'll just do it when I feel like it.

After getting Isa to calm down, you, Kubo, and him head out to find Yoichi. It's not that difficult. You just have to ask around for him and people point you in his direction.
When you find the guy, he's inside the "Mecha Battle Zone", essentially a big rec room completely dedicated to Mecha Battles. There are lots of other people here hanging out, battling, or messing with their models.
"That's him," Isa points towards a guy in a tracksuit leaning his back against one of the VR Boards. Around him stand three other guys who seem to be gassing him up and praising him.
As your party approaches, Yoichi spots you and pushes himself off the VR Board. A shit eating grin comes over his face and he waves, "Isa! Good to see you man. Back for another beating. Ah, I see you brought your boss with you and...oooh, now who is this?"
He gives you special attention, one hand on his chin as he looks you up and down...eyes taking time to stare at your chest and hips for longer than normal. He chuckles, "Why, hello cutie. What's your name?"
>Tell him and challenge him. Right here, right now.
>Don't tell him. Just challenge him. He doesn't deserve to know your name.
>Let Isa handle it. It is him you're fighting for.

You don't even hesitate. You march up to him, point at his face, and say plainly, "Yoichi Sanjuro. I Robinson, challenge you to a Mecha Battle. Here and now."
The man and his cronies go silent for a moment. They share a look before they all start to laugh. Yoichi looks over at Isa and says, "Really, man? You're so salty over me beating you, you get some random chick to fight your battles for you?"
Smiling, expecting this to happen, you cross your arms under your breasts and say, "Ah, I understand. My apologies, I didn't realize my challenge would frighten you so much."
That gets him and his goons to stop laughing. He turns his attention to you, a dangerous glint in his eyes and smile, "Careful there, cutie. You may say something you'll come to regret."
"Hmm, I doubt that. What I am regretting, though, is talking to you more than I have to. If you're not interested in Mecha Battles because you're scared of me, then I'll take my business to someone with something between their legs," you hear some gasps and oohs from some of the people around you. Seems you've gathered a crowd.
That finally gets Yoichi's goat. He reaches behind him and pulls out his Zaku. Sure enough, it's decked out with multiple ranged weapons, just as you had heard. He's smile turns predatory as he says, "Alright. If that's how you're gonna be, I'll fight you. But, you have to make it worth my while. How's about a bet?"
"Piss off, Yoichi. She-" you hold up a hand to interrupt Kubo. She clicks her tongue but abides by your wishes.
Yoichi taps his chin then says, "How about this? If I win, you have to come and hang with me for the rest of the day. And you can't say no to anything I ask of you."
"And if I win," you say, not even flinching at the suggestion, "you'll get on your knees and apologize to Isa for damaging his Model."
He laughs out loud, "Fine! Shake on it?"
>Sure, you'll take the bet.
>No. Just fight.
>Hold on, you've got other stipulations.
>Write in...

>Hold on, you've got other stipulations.
>You gotta do what I say for a day too. And you can't say no.
Interrupting us before we're finished? Looks like Velt needs to beat a hell of a lot of manners into him too.
But really we need to interrogate him more on what his boss can do. And get him to apologize to the rest of the people he terrorised on his knees too after.when are we gonna vote on her first name though
>>

---
You hold up your hand and glare at Yoichi, "Interrupting a lady before she can finish? You really do need some manners."
"Wha-But you alr-"
"I wasn't finished," you interrupt him, smiling smugly, "After all, your conditions are far more damaging than my own. Thus, it only makes sense to turn them back on you. If I win, you have to do whatever I say for a day. And you can't say no. Are you man enough to take that deal?"
More "oohs" come from the crowd and at this point if Yoichi says no, he'll lose a lot of face. You don't know how much worth Brando places on its reputation, but you imagine it's a lot. Yoichi looks around, frowning for a moment, before putting up his shit eating grin, "Fine. Not like I can lose to some newbie who doesn't even go here anyway. Shake on it?"
"You don't have to do this, Robinson," Isa says, leaning forward.
...Actually, you should probably let people know what your first name is now. It's nice being called Robinson, but not so much.
>Write in first name...
As for the deal...
>Shake Yoichi's hand. He's got a deal.
>You've got a few more stipulations.

Rolled 2 (1d2)
Shake his hand, and Grace. Got it.
---
"I, Grace Robinson, accept your wager," you grab his hand and shake on it, sealing the deal.
He chuckles, "Don't back out when you lose, now."
"Wouldn't dream of it," you say, separating as the two of you go to your respective spots on the VR Board. A crowd has gathered around, everyone watching as the two of you get ready to fight. You take out Velt and place it on the landing. Yoichi does the same to his Zaku-II.
Unlike the last one, this VR Board emits an image of a coin. Below it are the words "??? Will Choose Terrain". It automatically marks you as Heads and Yoichi as Tails. Then, it flips through the air...
>>
It lands Tails and Yoichi's grin widens as he quickly chooses the terrain you'll be fighting in. He ends up choosing "Battlefield Wreckage", showing off a place in space with a bunch of destroyed ships and mobile suits.
The words "Are the pilots ready?" appear before both of you. Yoichi quickly goes, "Yeah I am. Gunline, blow her to bits!"
So, his Zaku's called "Gunline", huh? Alright then, let's do this. You take the two joysticks and say, "Let's devour them all, darling~!"

You're once again in Velt's cockpit, this time in the middle of an old battlefield somewhere in space. Around you are the drifting hulks of ships and shot down carcasses of mobile suits. You've already got your thrusters going to keep yourself oriented.
Hmm, first thing's first, you've gotta find out where Yoichi is. Once you do, you can start working on bringing him down. But how are you doing to do that?
>Sneak around, try to get the jump on him. You can hide in the wreckages to break line of sight.
>Boost around and look. You'll find him eventually.
>Maybe you can draw him out somehow? Make some noise and get him to start firing on you.
>Maybe you can find him using your sensors? He's probably hiding himself, but that doesn't mean you can't find him.

>Maybe you can draw him out somehow? Make some noise and get him to start firing on you.
He thinks we're a newbie anyway. Might as well open our comms while we're at it and see if he takes the bait so we can track that too.
>My my, why so shy? I thought you'd be raring to come and get your hands on me. Or are you just worried I'll find you...disappointing?
If sneaking and sensors worked then someone else would have gotten the jump on him.

"My, my," you say after opening up your comms, "why so shy? I thought you'd be raring to come and get your hands on me. Or are you just worried I'll find you...disappointing?"
Unfortunately, unlike with Isa, your teasing doesn't seem to work on him. Even when you start moving out in the open to try to make yourself seem like a good target, you don't see hide nor hair of him. Which just leaves you more on edge.
Where could he be-

"Gotcha!"
Yoichi's voice immediately puts you on high alert. On instinct you boost to the side, barely dodging the barrage of gunfire heading your way. As it continues and starts following you, you turn around and boost off with your thrusters looking back to see your adversary launching a barrage at you.
"Dance, rabbit, dance!" he shouts, rifle opening up as he starts drawing beads on you with his other weapons, "Try to make this entertaining for me!"
Damn, he's got you right where he wants you. He's at range and so are you. You'll have to close the distance if you want to deal any damage.
...Alright.
If he wants to play, then let's play.

Depends. Things in IRL are happening tomorrow and I don't know if I'll have time to do this. Don't know how the archiving works, so I could come to post only to see that I can't anymore.
If I can manage it, I will.

QM. Buddy. You're on Page 1. You don't need to make another thread--these tend to stay on the catalog until around Page 10. You can see what page you're on by looking at the number on the FAR RIGHT at the bottom right corner of the page.
Archiving's pretty easy and I'm happy to tell you how to do it, but this thread is going to be up for at least another few months. It's not a rule or anything, but it's generally considered board etiquette to not fill the catalog with tiny threads. Anywho, do what you like--your quest and your circus! Thanks for running!

>Back at it. Let's go.
---
"What's wrong?! I thought you were gonna teach me manners?! Where did that bravado go?!"
Jeez. Does he ever stop talking? He hasn't even hit you yet. Sure, you've been dinged a few times by a stray shot. But you've suffered no serious damage. He's basically jerking himself off for no reason.
You've just been boosting and thrusting around without worrying about his attacks. Sure, he's a decent shot. But he's not that good.
Still, you can't dodge forever. You need to actually make a play on him. Though, he's probably set up those mines you were warned about. Hmmm, what should you do?
>Charge in anyway! He won't be expecting you to just bum rush him!
>Stay at a distance and snipe him down. Maybe you can beat him at his own game.
>Use the debris in the Battlefield for cover and close in on him. No way he'll be able to shoot through all this hull.
>Screw it. Black Hole Launcher, now. That should be enough to get rid of his mines AND deal a lot of damage. (CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE PER BATTLE!)
>Use Afterimage to try to close the distance. It should let you get close at least.
>Write in...
>>
>>
>>
>>6423904
>Use the debris in the Battlefield for cover and close in on him. No way he'll be able to shoot through all this hull.
Using afterimage right now is blowing our load too early - we need to use it once we've closed the distance enough that one boost + afterimage gets us within striking range. Using the debris is also an obvious play so he won't get spooked into using the mines.
>>
>>6423904
>Write in
>Sloppily try to get closer to him using debris cover, then use afterimage to close the gap once all his attention is focused on our "location"
A combination of debris and afterimage which that takes advantage of both the fact that he sees us as a stupid newbie and he wants to make us squirm.
We close the first bit of distance to him using the asteroid field as cover while not bothering too much about stealth. That should mean he gets his guard down because he thinks we're just a stupid girl who's just all talk, and instead of gunning for this kill he'll probably toy with us and do a few pot shots to taunt us which gives us more time to edge that littler bit close.
If we're very lucky might even make he drift out of his minefield if he thinks he can finish this easy peasy and the mines are overkill.
Then we maybe bait him into going in for the kill by pretending to mess up and give him an opening, and then afterimage into close combat range. Missile launcher to detonate all his mines and go in for the kill.
Using afterimage alone will just get his guard up if we can't connect a hit and wastes our best weapon, and too good of a debris infiltration will just cause him to lock in and go for the kill. He probably has practise shooting through debris anyway because we're probably not the first person to try using cover to get close.
But if my write in doesn't get traction then just put me down for
>Use the debris for cover.
When deciding the vote because I want to keep afterimages in reserve.

Time to take advantage of your surroundings. Turning your body, you engage your thrusters while grabbing a piece of destroyed battleship and holding it out in front of you like a shield. Hard thumps hit against the hull as you flew towards your target, his attacks damaging it but not enough to get through it.
At first.
It couldn't stay intact forever. It would break eventually. Thankfully, you made sure to stay close to more of the destroyed ships and asteroids. When your makeshift shield finally turned to burning slag, you tossed it away and flew towards an intact piece. You kept this up for a while, until you managed to finally get close enough that you could see his Zaku-II.
Along with the field of about five mines that he left around himself.
"Tsk, damn rabbit. The running and hiding is getting old," he puts up his rifles and puts both hands on his shoulder, twin rocket launchers come down aiming directly at you, "Let's see you run from this!"
Fires both launchers, the dark space around him lightning up as they speed through the space directly towards you...moving to make sure they hit you. Heat-seekers or something similar.
>Shoot them down before they get close!
>Charge in, slice through them, and boost passed the explosion.

Okay. Thanks to his crit, he's going to be taking a pound of scrap from you. But you'll still be in the fight. Choose one part to lose:
>Afterimage module: Use it to get out of the way, but it overheats and loses functionality in the process.
>Right Arm: You get away but your right arm gets caught in the explosion. You're right handed, so this might be an issue.
>Boosters: You push your boosters to the limit, but end up losing them in the explosion. Your thrusters are still there, but you can't boost anymore.
>Write in.
Also, roll 1d100+10 to see if you can use the opportunity to get close to him. Bo3.

>Right Arm: You get away but your right arm gets caught in the explosion. You're right handed, so this might be an issue.
Boosters and afterimage can compensate since he's shit at close range. We still have our missiles to fire in his face, and worst comes to worst a point blank black hole launcher can finish him.
Plus us losing a whole arm might let him think we're on our last legs and make him get even cockier, sure in his victory.

As if this is gonna stop you. You charge forward, pulling out your beam saber and aiming to cut through both of the rockets. Your blade cleaves through them easily, sending both halves away. You turn to face your opponent and-
MINES!
The rockets were a distraction! He was trying to get you with his mines! The small black balls start turning red as you enter their proximity. You're too close to get away, and you don't think Afterimage will be enough to save you here. So, you do the only thing you can think to do...
Raising both your right arms to block, you brace for what's to come.
The mines and the rockets you cut apart detonate and you feel Velt get rocked. The actual pain of being sent flying around your cockpit is lessened by the Particles, but it still feels rough. You're temporarily deafened, but it doesn't last long. Soon enough, you're able to stabilize yourself and get an idea of what went wrong.
Let's see...you did take some damage. But Velt's still in the fight. Thrusters, Boosters, Magnum, Beam Saber, Afterimage, and Black Hole Launcher are still intact...but you've lost your right arm.
Oh, that's not good. You're right handed.
"Ha! Still hanging in there I see," you look up and scowl, watching as Yoichi's Mech starts trying to get a bead on you through the smoke, "But, don't worry, that won't last for long!"
Hrnngh, this isn't good. He's completely taken the momentum. Not to mention you only managed to reach medium range. You still have a distance to cover that he could shoot you through. At least he doesn't have the mines anymore. Urgh, what now?
>Charge in! All or nothing!
>Start firing your Magnum. You can't get in close right now!
>...Screw it, all or nothing. Fire the Black Hole Launcher! (ONCE PER BATTLE!)

That's 119 VS -22. It's a great comeback!
Choose what part you want to cut off of him:
>Take an arm. Make it so he can't use it to fire two weapons at once, or use a melee weapon very effectively.
>Take his Launchers. Stops his heavy ordinance.
>Take his Mine Launcher. No more of those.
>Take out his Thrusters. He can't get away anymore.
>Take out his Main Camera. Make it hard for him to track you.

>Take out his Thrusters. He can't get away anymore.
No more hiding, Mr. And now he's a sitting duck for a black hole launcher finisher.
Was thinking main camera but it's going to be even more annoying if he runs and hides or manages to dodge.

Okay. You know how to use this to your advantage. Time to make used of what you practiced with Isa.
You hit your boosters as you aim straight for Yoichi's Zaku. It takes a bit of fumbling, but you eventually pull your Beam Saber out and turn it on in your left hand. It's not easy to use it, but that's fine. As long as you've got the element of surprise, you should be able to get this guy.
"Huh?! Is th-FUCK!" you burst through the smoke, hurtling straight for him as he screams in surprise. He turns and aims both his rifles at you, pulling the triggers and sending a wave of lead your way.
You hit the Afterimage systems before they strike, leaving it to get eviscerated while you close the distance. Moving under him and to his back, you yell a battle cry as you cut into the thrusters on his back. Your blade bites deep and leaves a massive, burning cut in the energy on the back.
"F-Fuck! You damn, bitch! Gotta-Gotta get this off!" he shouts as you duck away from an attempt at backhanding you. He manages to get the pack off his back, but not before it explodes and takes the rest of his thrusters with it. He's still alive, but that left a number on him. His mecha turns its gaze up at you and starts trying to aim...but then he seems to realize.
He's a ranged model...and you're in close now.
"Uh...Uh...H-He-Hey, how about we make a deal?"
>Get him! Slice him to ribbons.
>Pull out the Magnum and fire point blank range.
>Black Hole Launcher. Point Blank. You should be able to get away...maybe.
