Then science can't give you an answer. I'm skeptical of social sciences in general too. Social phenomena have too many cultural, demographic, economic, etc factors to easily be isolated or replicated, so even if you do have high-quality data the best you can usually do is a post hoc explanation that's colored by your biases. The fact that there is an "answer" doesn't mean it's knowable
