'Iff' means 'if and only if', which is distinct from regular 'if'.
For instance, the statement "you're british if you're english" is true. However, "you're british iff (if and only if) you're english" is false because Scottish people are a thing.
A correct use of iff might be "x < 3 iff x + 1 < 4", because one cannot be true without the other also being true.
