They’re 3 points clear of 18th, with a game in hand and still have to play spurs (3pts guaranteed), so they’ll be fine. That said Opta’s predictions are trash as they r failed yet again to account for arsenals bottling.

Where can I make a bet for Leeds to get a red card but win the match tonight? I’ve got a gut feeling. I’m sure every time Man Utd have a long period of no matches this season they play against 10 men and actually lose

How do you expect a manager to perform without a warchest? Yes 409.25m spent but 350m in sales and wages saved through players leaving. Hardly spending similar to Chelsea, manure etc. FSG are running are business first and need to allow the club to spend its cash reserves. Next season could be crucial and, getting the right players, could honestly be a treble season when you realise Isak will be at full fitness with all his issues resolved and a preseason on his belt
>>
>>154216103
don't worry about him, you don't need to be serious. it's the first time in the past decade his club (manure) haven't been the highest spenders of the window, so he's just letting out all the pent up frustration for being bullied for buying flop after flop after flop after flop after flop
>>
>>
>>154209843
Leeds pass the eye test. They probably won’t win tonight but they’re clearly a Premier League quality side. You watch them play and it’s professional, the approach to matches makes sense. Spurs on the other hand are the worst side in the division
>>
>>
>>
>>154216143
???
Arsenal were desperate for Isak but he chose Liverpool. There is no denying he is the best striker in the league
>muh injuries
Yeah a joke club didn’t put his fitness first and unfortunately he was in pieces when arriving at Liverpool. Luckily enough he was still the best striker in the league despite this and on full fitness will be unbelievable

Haaland exists.
Why are Liverpool fans suddenly acting as if their club aren't defending champions who have produced a terrible defence of the title? The team's regressed significantly despite the summer transfer window.
Pic related was the moment Liverpool's season went to shit.

>The bitter irony is that Chelsea have consciously tried to mould themselves on City in many crucial ways under BlueCo’s ownership, spending millions on City academy graduates
>City are a bigger, stronger team than Chelsea in almost every position, and those advantages manifested clearly in Nico O’Reilly swatting Andrey Santos aside to nod in their first goal and Jeremy Doku bustling Moises Caicedo off the ball to run through and smash in their third.
>The third is a philosophical distinction. City lined up at Stamford Bridge with two January signings, Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, whom Chelsea ruled out trying to sign on salary grounds.
>Their wage bill is markedly lower than City’s — more than €100million lower
>but just as important is that more of City’s football investment is directed at building the best possible football team right now
>BlueCo may point to a recent CIES Football Observatory report that identified Chelsea as having the most valuable squad in world football (€1.73billion)
>it has certainly put them in a strong position to trade footballers, which they do on an unrivalled scale.
>But the staggering amount of money poured into this club by BlueCo over the past three years drowns out all attempts at mitigation and erases all excuses
>Another fan protest against BlueCo, led by NotAProjectCFC in partnership with Strasbourg ultra groups, is set to take place before Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge next weekend.

Its naive to think grammar schools are or were bad for working class people.
Too many working class lads got ideas above their station without selling out and that explains why the government hates them now.
>>
West Brom is facing a points deduction, they tried to delay it but seems it will be applied this season which would push them into the relegation zone.
I mention this here because that would mean all three teams at the bottom of the Championship all had points deductions, two of which with recent spells in the Premier League (ok WBA was a while ago). If Spurs go down, they could fall off a financial cliff and get points deductions too.

>there have literally been studies
I agree with you largely, but grammar schools did give opportunities to kids who should be accessing a better standard of education, but who have been limited by their parents financial state. They were a good thing. I agree with what you’re saying regarding genetics determining success, but so much of that success depends on where you’re coming from. A smart kid from a grammar school has a far better chance of getting into a high-level uni than a kid from a dead state school.
>>
>>154217504
Doubtful that it applies this year. They are talking about -2 or 3 points which is either a non-punishment or automatic relegation because there’s no time to apply it before the games are played. Would be funny for them to be relegated in June though.
>>
>>154217559
>Would be funny for them to be relegated in June though.
Reminded me of the time Wigan got relegated in 19/20 after they had a 12 point deduction for going into administration applied the very second after the final whistle in their final match of the season. So they went from 13th to 23rd in a second.

Many of those are amateur/semi-professional trophies, contested by reserve and youth teams, or second-tier 'titles' that are essentially meaningless beyond getting them promotion.
The Charity Shield is also not considered a major trophy in England, despite being analogous to the likes of the Spanish Super Cup.
Leeds United's last MAJOR trophy was the 1992 league title
Burnley's last was the 1960 league title
Sunderland's last was the 1973 FA Cup
Wolves' last was the 1980 League Cup
Nottingham Forest's was the 1990 League Cup
Brentford, Fulham, Brighton and Bournemouth have never won a major trophy.

PLAYERS WANT OUT BECAUSE OF ENIC
• Mickey Van De Ven is being advised by his family and agent to not give 100% to Spurs in order to guarantee a move in summer. They know the club will try to keep him if we stay up so he’s doing all he can to get us relegated. Hence all the performances where he’s not even at 25% of his capabilities
• Kolo Muani was the player gloating in training that he don’t care if Spurs goes down because he’s going back to Juventus in the summer, the problem with this is that no player has the balls to step up to him, many were in agreement
• Yves Bissouma is fuming he hasn’t had a wage increase and is a very bad influence on the training ground, he also wants relegation as he feels he’s been led and lied to by the owners
• Cristian Romero feels that he’s been lured into signing a contract based on broken promises. He also sees relegation as the easiest way to leave the club, hence all the silly yellow cards and match bans. He was planning on getting more suspensions. He didn’t plan on being out for the season injured as he wants to be be 100% for the World Cup
• Djed Spence is demotivated because he’s on over £160k a week less than Conor Gallagher and also wants the club to go down so we can leave on the cheap and get a significant wage increase
• Xavi Simons wants out and his agent has made it obvious that he’s looking for new clubs whether Spurs go down or stay up. This is why no manager has trust in him. He regretted joining Spurs less than a month after signing for the club
THE CLUB IS A MESS BECAUSE OF ENIC

Last day of the season West Ham vs Leeds and Forest vs Bournemouth. If you're Leeds/Bournemouth are you really going to try your hardest knowing that a league without Spurs in it is in your best interest?
I hope they go full Disgrace of Gijon.

>Xavi Simons [...] regretted joining Spurs less than a month after signing for the club
Regretted it before he even kicked a ball for them

Spurs could be completely ruined as a club. Talking about xyz wanting to leave etc. Look at Leicester City. They're getting gone to L1. If spurs go down they very well might not come back up for a few years, or even ever. Spurs might be a dead lifeless club. All their stars go end of this season for cheap. The wages of the ones who stay will be cut upon relegation. The club is extremely toxic with multiple players accusing the board. This will stop potential signings from coming in. Right now you can't overstate the crisis they're in. The club is absolutely fucked for years regardless if they stay up and I cannot see that happening. They are not built for championship football. You need 11 thugs on the pitch. Eric Dier would have been perfect for the championship.

I would see it being more like when Villa were relegated rather than when Newcastle were relegated.
Villa weren't prepared for the Championship neither. Most of them were too old and needed replaced whether they went down or not and the only really good player they had was Jack Grealish.
With Newcastle it was more like they had a lot of decent - good lower PL/upper Championship players so they were alright. They also had Hughton the first time as manager who was definitely cut out for the Championship and Rafa the second time who had just left Real Madrid.
The first time even their best players, like Owen, were finished and couldn't wait to get away. But they still had those decent - good players so it worked out.
Spurs players all look like they're desperate to get out as it is. Even though none of them are world beaters they're still "in demand" types. They're still young most of them and none of them will want to play in the Championship. Even if they did, there's no relegation clauses so the club would have to sell them regardless.
The real problem is if they don't get promoted the first time. Which is absolutely no guarantee. If it was every relegated team would immediately bounce back from the parachute payments alone, but they don't because the Championship is way trickier than people think it is.

I think Spurs could sell a couple of players, just run a high wage bill and then cruise to promotion desu.
I'm not convinced it would be a disaster except for their egos. Players like Solanke could really benefit from a year of being the best in the league.

>Shelvey left Anfield to link up with Swansea City in 2013 and later represented Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Caykur Rizespor, Eyupspor, Burnley and Arabian Falcons.
It really was a linear decline downwards, from the lofty peak of a not-very-good Liverpool side

If Spurs go down then he will surely be the #1 worst ever PL signing.
There have been worse players over the years of course but purely as a signing his complete lack of impact relative to them needing to even break their wage structure would take some beating.

Stop, it's Ali Dia.
Most of the reasonings for other players are purely money (which is constantly changing) or form (which implies they were actually competent at PL level beforehand). Dia should not have even gotten close to a football pitch at ANY level.

He does count as a signing so I don't know why the other poster said that but his contract was terminated extremely early, he didn't even play one full league match for them, and him being there or not being there did not impact Southampton's season
Ali Dia was a ridiculous and meme signing but far from a flat-out terrible one because the mistake was resolved instantly
Conor Gallagher has had as much impact as Ali Dia but for £200k a week. Could even be a worse footballer

Your post is complete nonsense, that's why I said "lol".
Ali Dia was a blatant fraudster who should have never got close to a Football League contract, let alone a Premier League one. His best spell of any sort came in non-league football at Gateshead.
Conor Gallagher was a key midfielder at Chelsea, Palace and eventually Atletico and also won caps for his country. He is infinitely better than Dia ever was.
To say they're even comparable based off one bad transfer for the latter is outright retarded.
>Your shit club is going down by the way lmfao (now here comes the "I-I'm not a Y-")
You come out with the same obvious schizo babble all the time. Apparently everyone who replies to you is a Spurs fan. I notice you didn't use the Y word, I can only guess you're scared of being banned again.
Maybe go outside for once and get out of your parents' spare bedroom, it's a very sunny day. They'll be grateful for it.

Chelsea are currently capitalising the interest on their debt rather than paying it to avoid breaking sustainability rules
This means each year their debt will increase by the interest due, and that interest will also have interest due.
They are utterly fucked

Wasn't Clearlake's model structured completely around making the CL every single season, because Todd's understanding was that was a foregone conclusion?
There's an amazing book to be written about post-Roman Chelsea and I just hope it does get written.

Spurs is the canary in the coal mine.
>Spurs get relegated and then suffers financial issues
>115 Charges City gets relegated and then suffers financial issues
>Chelsea, Everton, Aston Villa, possibly others suffer financial issues and then get points deducted into relegation
>a load of "too big to fall" PL clubs will instead fall down the pyramid
>the Premier League will still have historically big clubs in it, just not the "Big Six" and its hanger-ons
>English football survives because of how well supported the lower league clubs are and there's no need for the authorities to artificially maintain "big" clubs like they have done on he continent
>plastics cry

wonder what happened. i've been to austria and over there usually a road crossing has a sign and barriers to prevent you from crossing the road while a train is approaching but somehow he drove his car onto the train tracks while the train was approaching like the character in the 1959 short film "last clear chance"
