Ryan French from Monday Q Info reports that LIV Golf is about to shut down.
Speaking on X Spaces last night, Ryan said:
“I think everybody should probably stay near their phones…
“I have some pretty good sources and I’ve heard that some other people have sources that LIV is shutting down.”
Later on in the episode, he said:
“I’ve got everything from, and these are people that I trust, that you guys know. Players didn’t get paid today, power went out because the bill wasn’t paid, employees didn’t get paid. Stuff like that.
“There is definitely a lot going on… Things are not good.”
Ryan is very well connected and respected in the professional golf world. He would not be saying this unless he was certain something was coming.

Makes you wonder if Brooks and Reed saw the writing on the wall and got out ahead of it. Guys like Bryson and Rahm will be fine, pga tour would be crazy not to let them back, but otherwise most of those guys are off to the KF or DP tour.

kek, infinite money propping it up and still they decide it's not worth it
PGA already gave these guys a chance and they said fuck you, so they should just hold an annual tournament to allow just 1 of them back on per year. Bubba gets an exemption to come back ASAP on account of having the most bootyful swing of all time

it's over. there was never a way to make LIV profitable by itself with those huge long term player contracts. the whole point was to force a merger with the PGA tour, and if the saudis are pulling their money it means they gave up on that.

As big a joke as it was they had sorta kinda attempted to replace the WGC model that sorely needs to make a comeback. PGA should dump all that elevated event shit (especially since it was birthed to "combat" LIV) and replace most of them with events scattered around the world
Which also means bringing back the GOAT event the Dell Match Play

mostly gimmicks like music during tee shots, parallel team competition and shotgun starts. I give them some credit for trying to innovate and they were relativity successful at tapping markets outside the US, but ultimately it wasn't meant to compete long term. the point was to put enough pressure on the pga tour to push a merger as a way for the saudis to buy their way into the profitable tour. but it looks like they got tired of throwing money at it before the pga tour got tired of playing without bryson and rahm.

If it happens, I doubt the PGA Tour will be dicks, for the most part. Off the top of my head...
>Bryson
welcomed back (recent major status), tho this one is weird cuz Bryson likes to control his own personal brand and the PGA doesn't allow it.
>Rahm
welcomed back (recent major status)
>Cam Smith
if going by the letter of the law, welcomed back (recent major status), but he's absolute shit rn
>Phil
Champion's Tour
>Detry
Should probably be welcomed back cuz he won on the PGA not too long ago
>Sergio
Probably?
>Gooch
Good enough to contend and win on the tour, but also an absolute heel who talks mad shit about the tour. Welcome him back for villain status.
>Hatton
Welcome back no questions asked
>Bubba
He can play the shitty events nobody signs up for
>Niemann
Welcome back cuz he's really good
All the other dudes can figure it out for themselves.
