How do you cope when your team doesn't make the playoffs?

Do you pick another team that's and and root for them? Do you root for individual players maybe ones who were on your team before? Do hatewatch an enemy rival team and root for anyone that plays them? Do you watch as a neutral observer? How do you watch the playoffs when your team isn't in it?

I don't root for my team in the first place I'm pessimistic and derogatory towards them. If I'm watching neutral teams it's not a fucking questionnaire I just watch and if my feelings are inspired I root.

Original hometown teams:
Bills/Sabres
Secondary hometown teams
Seahawks/Kraken

If none of those teams make playoffs in their respective leagues, I don't watch the playoffs until the Final round (Superb Owl/Stan Lee Cup), because that's always interesting and gives me a reason to either hate-watch a rival team that made it to the Final round or watch a team that I took interest in at some point during the season (and root for them if the opposing team happens to be a rival team of >my team). But yeah, outside of the Owl/Cup, I don't watch unless my team(s) make it.
