The Chiefs made the Super Bowl in back to back seasons that were supposed to be down years. That's a testament to how great the combination of Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Steve Spagnuolo is. It's also an indictment on the rest of the AFC. Imagine being the Bills and the Ravens and still not being able to go in for the kill on Kansas City while it was at its lowest point, that has to be fucking demoralizing. At this point, the only non fraud QBs at least in the AFC are Mahomes and Joe Burrow and Burrow is about to miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight season. The Chiefs are seriously unmatched in this fucking conference and now are starting to get their offensive mojo back so it's really about to be over for the conference now. The neutral fan in me wants to see someone else rise up to give the Chiefs a challenge since Baltimore and Buffalo have consistently dropped the ball and the Bengals are wasting Joe Burrow's prime, plus he's made of glass. The team in the AFC I see now is surprisingly the Colts. That offense of Indy looks legit and Daniel Jones is looking like another great reclamation project so I'll be rooting for them and if they somehow do indeed do it and beat the Chiefs, I will actually applaud them for doing what Buffalo and Baltimore couldn't ever do. Lets get back to Patrick Mahomes though. This man is an all time great Quarterback already. He already has 17 fucking playoff wins, that's 2nd most all time and he's only in his 8th season of being the starting QB for the Chiefs, that's the embodiment of greatness and he's already a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Do you guys realize how fucking amazing that is? Out of all the QBs to play in the Super Bowl era, he's already rapidly approaching the status of 2nd greatest of all time. Now when I say stuff like this, usually people bombard me with posts about Brady, but I think Tom Brady is the GOAT. I don't think Tom Brady ever be surpassed. But can't we appreciate what Mahomes is doing?

O-line and Edge will be scorched by 23

Ive been a draft nerd for 15 years im not a genius but im usually good at predicting runs.

I dont think anyone worth taking at Tackle or EDGE will be left at 23 that would be even close to Best player available. They will have to reach Andre Dillard style and pass on a way better player to do it . Howie wont play that game again.

The good news is that the run will push a player at a lower value position like TE or CB to the eagles like it did in 2024 when Quinyon fell in our laps after the 8 teams in front of us drafted O Line or D line . Or a player at a super deep position like WR will be there.

You have to understand most GMs aren't howie. Their job is at risk based on how this years team performs. They cant always just "take the best player" . If they have a massive Hole at EDGE or tackle they need to find an answer . Good tackles rarely hit free agency so its draft or bust.

Then you have to look at the the combination of players they will get the next 2 days. Let's say you have a hole at tackle but you take Kenyan Sadiq at 15 because hes the best player. Okay now pick 47 youre fried because theres going to be nothing but 3rd round lineman left. The bad teams at the top of the draft need lineman too. When they take QB , WR , CB etc in the top 10 most times they snatch up whoevers left at those high value positions at the top of the 2nd round. Or sometimes if they even double up round 1 and 2 on EDGE and O line. If youre a team picking between 10-20 you cant wait.

Now lets say you do it in reverse. You pass on Sadiq at 15 and take a tackle like Blake Miller who youd rather get in round 2 but you believe hes a Starter so you bite the bullet. Now at pick 47 you get Eli Stowers or Max Klare at TE. Still got a starting TE but you didnt completely whiff on tackle.

The logic is the same with EDGE

My prediction is that alot like 2024 its going to be nearly all O line and D Line between picks 10-20 . Eagles will not get Lanes replacement but will possibly end up with a player they shouldnt be able to get. Maybe move up a few spots to secure it. Teams will feel like they can get a good WR , TE , S , CB in round 2 but they cant wait on Tackle and EDGE. Most of the guys mocked to us will he gone.

I think The Pick will be a Sadiq , WR (lemon, tyson,) , CB (mccoy who would he a top 10 pick if healthy), or thieneman (less likely imo) .

Worth noting on CB that fangio has a history of converting CB's to safety (kareem jackson) and may allow the guy to compete at safety year 1 and move back to CB year 2. Riq is only here 1 year.
