Selfless bump and a way to get some anons in here.

What would you say is a Campaign you joined that first rubbed you the wrong way, but really grew on you?

Also has the state of Critical Roll's success made it harder for you get find a good Campaign?

> What would you say is a Campaign you joined that first rubbed you the wrong way, but really grew on you?

Didn't happen often. OWoD, Vampires. Expected pretty posh vampires, maybe anime-like stuff, found Malkavians done right. Fell in love.

> Also has the state of Critical Roll's success made it harder for you get find a good Campaign?

Not yet. But I very seldom were part of random groups.

>Player or GM
Open to both. Tend to GM. If I am a player, I will consume lore given to me and embed myself in it.

>Preferred System(s)
I do not GM 1dX systems. Including, and not limited to 5th Edition DnD. If I am a player, I just STFU: If you're willing to put the effort in, I'll manage.

>Schedule/Times Available (include timezone)
EST, any not!Saturday, twice a month. Weird factory schedule. For an every week thing, I can alternate Sunday/Monday and Thursday/Friday.

>Voice or Text
Either. I enjoy Play-by-Post and am open to it.

>Method(s) of Play (Skype, Discord, IRC, Roll20, etc)
Discord and/or Roll20, open to others.

>Tone/Theme Preferred
Non-Lewd. Immersive. No 2000-2030 political issues. I have no issue with purely in-character bigotry.

If I GM, I like anything crew/squad-based. Heavy Gear / Firefly / Galaxy's Edge / Frostpunk Tractor. Grittty. If I don't GM, as long as the theme is consistent and the resolution mechanics fits the theme, I'm fine.

>Other Notes
French Canadian. My english is excellent, my french is better, but in both cases I can't hide the accent. Will probably pick an exotic specie / culture so that said accent adds to the game. Sometimes, I get confused with you / they / them being either singular or plural, heard "thou" used to be singular "you" and loving it.

I tend to both optimize characters (not min-max, unless meant to be humorous) and roleplay heavily, and as such tend to play very high or very low social skills.

> What would you say is a Campaign you joined that first rubbed you the wrong way, but really grew on you?

A Friend of mine who is experimenting in campaigns kinda always falls in this category, both in a way where its fun but also kinda just under baked.

> Also has the state of Critical Roll's success made it harder for you get find a good Campaign?

No real signs of any of it influencing my shit thank god

>Player or GM
I can do both, just been stuck being a DM for two campaigns, a Fallout Campaign, and a When World's Collide Campaign. I only ever get to be a player for a friend's personal DnD but it's a close group and I'd love to branch out and meet new people. Personally I'd love to be a player, but as a DM I have plans to run a 40k Campaign and eager to run a Vampire's game as well.

>Preferred System(s)
I'm open to most systems, just not a fan of 5th edition that much, but I'll still play it. I usually homebrew systems for my campaigns.

>Schedule/Times Available (include timezone)
EST, Saturday's and Sunday's are my Campaign Days, so any other days works fine with me. I work at a Movie theater so my schedule is a bit hectic, but if given a advance notice of the schedule then I can request days off in advance.

>Voice or Text
Voice Only

>Method(s) of Play (Skype, Discord, IRC, Roll20, etc)
Discord Primarily. I am also a heavy Theater of the Mind GM

>Tone/Theme Preferred
I'm down for anything as long as it isn't too silly or weird.

Reach out to me if you'd be down to add me as a player to your campaign, I really wouldn't mind.

>Premise
We are about to start the third iteration of our ongoing cWoD "Bucharest by Night" campaign using Vampire: the Masquerade (V20). To put matters simply, we are a deeply passionate group with extremely high standards and are looking for two more outstanding players to join us. If you've always found it difficult to find a group that satisfies your standards, then we might be what you're looking for.

Bumpa to help anons find GM's and Players

I mean, I wish I could get into a 3.PF1e game that used psionics / dreamscarred press. But like. That sadly isn't ever gonna happen, is it. I can't run it, I'm already running my long time weekly campaign for the last two years and I'm playing in a different game on a different day too.

Hey, Satan, make a proper post. Explain why you look for that explicitely, save it on a notepad, post once every couple of months. If a GM is undecided, he may decide to accomodate you. And it might sparks one's curiosity.

It might not get a reply this very thread, but since the alternative is "never", provides a bump, and is nigh effortless (if you ctrl+c / ctrl+v after the first thread, what have you got to lose?

4chan being buggy. Sorry for the doubleposting.

DSP is alot of fun but despite how much i love psionics it would take a really exceptional DM for me to want to go back to 3.PF i rarely find combat to challange my characters which is what im looking for when im stacking strength. FFd20 looks fun too.

I lowkey want to DM a custom digimon ruleset

Hey I have no idea how to apply, I'm interested in joining I have been role-playing since 2019 started on 3.5e and then played 5e did, ran three campaigns, two of which were pathfinder 2e.
I have never played VtM but I have read the rulebook and I am aware of the lore and system, I have played through the rpg game and the CK3 Princes of Darkness mod. I am a GERMan and slightly ahead of the timezone, but Saturdays are mostly fine.
I do speak fluent English, most fantasy books I read are in English and I shouldnt have any problems understanding, articulating, or improvising. If you want you can send me your discord and we can further discuss anything I am missing

You can't even capitalize, punctuate or spell correctly. You aren't "going back" to anything because you've never played. No one wants a brainrotted child at their table.

Partly it's because vancian sucks and the 3.pf spellpoints / psionics system was a good fix for it. Partly it's the only version of d20 was ever any good. Partly it's that I like the flavor and themes of psionics as presented in that style. Partly it's that I liked illithid and aboleth before they were cool, and I'm really upset that BG3 is now what everyone will be thinking of.

Hey friend - I'm glad and thankful for your interest but it's pretty clear what the applying proess is. This means, unfortunately, that you haven't read the full LFG post, which isn't a good sign :(

>>97884941
Pretty good question honestly. Quite transparently I utterly despise the influx of "neurodivergent LGBTQIA+" types Critical Role brought to the hobby and though I never was part of the crowd that was foaming at the mouth over this influx of imbeciles I've interacted with enough Critical Role-obsessed mouthbreathers to agree that by this point it is an undeniable cancer on the hobby. The people it's brought in don't want anything to do with actual roleplaying - they want sessions filled with virtue-signalling, holier-than-thou'ing, and "smashing fascists." I wouldn't judge what other people are enjoying but they tend to be extremely militant about their beliefs and attack you if you don't share them, labeling you as some sort of bigoted extremist. I've gotten death threats on Reddit because my LFG posts had a "please leave your politics at the door" sentence in them - apparently that makes me a Nazi. Has anyone else experienced the same?

>What would you say is a Campaign you joined that first rubbed you the wrong way, but really grew on you?
None. When they rub me the wrong way, I leave.

>Also has the state of Critical Roll's success made it harder for you get find a good Campaign?
No, I was never able to find good campaigns before then either.

>>97898930
Let's be real, critical role hasn't affected tabletop gamers much because we don't use anything branded D&D so that right there already filters them out. Now that people are fleeing 5e because the novelty has worn off and the problems with the game design of it are just too severe to ignore, I might need to tweak my questionnaire to catch them while vetting applicants, but it might be a few years before I have any room opening at my tables so it's not exactly a pressing concern.
