Oh great—just what *Warhammer 40,000* needed: less mystery. Because nothing improves a grimdark setting like explaining every shadow until it reads like a history textbook with bolters.

The *Horus Heresy* used to feel like a half-remembered apocalypse—myth, propaganda, and religious distortion all tangled together. You didn’t *know* what happened; you felt the weight of it. Now we’ve got dozens of novels spelling out every conversation and betrayal like it’s a galactic office drama.

*Horus Lupercal* isn’t a tragic legend anymore—he’s just a very tall, very angry guy with detailed inner thoughts. Same with the Primarchs. They were supposed to be contradictory myths, not fully documented personalities.

And *The Emperor of Mankind*? He went from unknowable god-figure to someone who just… explains things. Nothing kills cosmic horror faster than your golden space messiah giving speeches.

The whole point was that history is broken. The Imperium doesn’t understand its past—that’s the tragedy. It worships a corpse and rituals it barely comprehends. But now everything’s cataloged, clarified, and overexposed.

Sure, *Black Library* writes good books. That’s not the problem. The problem is saturation. When every myth gets a play-by-play, it stops being mythology and starts being lore bloat.

It used to feel like lost history. Now it feels like patch notes.

>Sure, *Black Library* writes good books.
lol
I actually really like the Gotrek and Felix books up to Giantslayer though. I too, am a slop enjoying pig

This is just preaching at the choir at this point
>>
Completely Right OP

The level of detail given to individual events in the Sabertooth Horus Heresy CCG and artbooks is as far as it should ever have gone.

Why do 40k fanboys scream AI or demoralization discord? You losers killed warhammer at this point and even reddit/youtube normies know this
>>
>>97898197
For each mystery these books "solved", they opened up 5 more. People are just assblasted they have to read 60+ books now, and they do not know the setting in and out, like they used to when they were kids.
>>
This is literally AI are you telling me some mad man trained an AI to act like a 40k grog?

> explaining every shadow until it reads like a history textbook with bolters.
You did not read the books.

>You didn’t *know* what happened
And you still dont really, because the books are all written from an unreliable narrators view. You still dont *know* if what you've just read is objectivly true, or just one guys tale of it.

>fully documented personalities.
Again, you did not read the books if you truely believe that.

>The Imperium doesn’t understand its past
And it still doesn't. Nothing about the setting of 40k changed, just because you as the reader/player know what Dorn said to Malcador on day 452 of the siege.

>Didn’t affect modern 40k

The entire tone shift of Warhammer 4040k now leans directly on the Horus Heresy series turning myth into documented history. Once you spell everything out, you don’t get to pretend it hasn’t changed how the setting feels.

And the biggest giveaway? Primarchs are back. Guilliman is literally running the Imperium like a stressed middle manager, and Lion El'Jonson just walked back in like he missed a meeting. These were supposed to be near-mythical figures—now they’re active participants with ongoing storylines. That’s not “no impact,” that’s a complete shift in scale and perspective.

You can like the books, sure—but saying they didn’t reshape modern 40k is just ignoring what’s right in front of you.

>they added AI to the 40k demoralization attacks

How is it AI? Stop trying to discredit the thread everything spoken was correct

Again, HH books and what happens inside them does not affect 40k AT ALL.

Girlmans return was never hinted at in any of the HH books, he never goes like "Hey Lion, remember back then, when we made Imperium Secundus?" - What you describe is a change in 40k, and its real, but the way the Primarchs are handled in 40k and how they are handled in the 30k novels is completely different.

If you just read books and don't actually play the game, you kill Warhammer's soul.

This is ai, very clearly. Almost every sentence contains some kind of tell. The rhythm is a tell. The whole structure is a tell. And while reddit spacing isn't a real thing, you are using asterixes to try to make italics, a reddit feature.

You declined to write a few sentences even though you thought this was important enough to post. That's pathetic. You have the brain of a baby. It would have been so easy to actually write a post like this if you weren't a fucking idiot.

As usual with this wordy shite it's much easier to just say:
"Fluff > Lore"

Instead of releasing more books GW should put their writers to rewrite all of the horus heresy from the memory and putting some deeds to different characters.
And instead of anouncing new books they should just release these books with same covers and names as previously.
It would mythify things.

>Warhammer 40k.
>Shitting pissing and moaning about 30k
Shut up faggot, bitching about BL is not unique or special, everyone does it.
Anyone who takes BL as anything more the entertainment bolter wank content is retarded.

Hating BL is like playing ultramarines, fucking milk toast vanilla flavor, get a better opinon that is actually worth sharing.

Why couldn't you just write this yourself? Did you really need to use ai?
