Sorry last time I made the thread with the title "What the fuck?! 'You guys' let the thread die with no link to the new thread" Edition people were upset so I figure it's better if I insult them plainly and directly.
>>
i've been buying 2 copies of each gundam starter and 4ish booster boxes of each set.

i'm feeling this is maybe a bit overkill.

Has One Poops mechanics changed since set 5?

Same shit but with Bandai's usual powercreep™

Thank you, based thread poster. We're really in your debt. I am barely around to do it myself on weekends.

I am once again asking for your opinions on shard bugs, is it well designed?

Wait, the 1st set already released? Haven't heard a single thing about it.

Cards that can interrupt your opponent during their turn, for or against?
>>
>>97914689
for. interaction is good.
>>
>>97914739
Interaction can be achieved without slowing down tempo
>>
>>97914745
but slowing down tempo is fun too unless you just want unga bunga me big combo
>>
>>97914689
Against. One of my major pet peeves about Magic. My turn is my turn, and if you were playing, it would be your turn. We ARE interacting, we each have turns. I'd like to be able to carefully plan my turn during your turn, and not have to change my plans every time you decide to yell STOP. Fuck that. You play on YOUR turn, and if I 'Unga bunga me big combo', that's YOUR problem.
>>
>>97914689
Against, kind of for the reasons >>97914808 brings up. Free interaction creates mini turns where you wait to the last moment to make your plays at all times, and that's boring riskless design. I'm not against interrupting your opponent's turn, but it has to be controlled. Dedicated reversal cards with conditional activations are better than free-playable instants. Telegraphing, commitments, and bluffing are better than the flexibility of just having it in hand.
Hard as hell to do in a TCG setting and not have people bitch about it. People sit on the two extremes and either want to combo off free or have cards active with little to no tell. Anyone else just plays Netrunner.
>>
>>97914689
Card games are combat sims, a guy will shoot you in the gut as soon as he sees an opportunity so card games should reflect that
>>
>>97914689
Maybe it's because I was introduced to the hobby through magic back in 2001 when I was 7 but I think games without instant speed type play are kind of boring.
>>
>>97914689
For because otherwise it's either aggro world if it can't get interacted with or it's ramp. I like being able to slow down gameplans. Yes I'll also get interrupted but it makes for good length back and forth games.
>>
>>97915393
I was introduced to tcgs through Magic, too, but I ended up the opposite way. I remember the last game of Mtg I played was a 6 player commander game, but because we were all interrupting the shit out of each other, we kept losing track of whose actual turn it was. Now I play Lorcana, and I'm soooo much happier.
>>
>commander
lmao
>>
>>97912649
Blurple Barbie is a deck for niggers. Game would be more enjoyable if they just limit Barbatos, Barbatos Adapt, and Amuro.
>>
>>97912941
The 2 starters makes sense so you can have full copies, boxes however it's more surprising that you are able to get all of those really
>>97915734
Considering they revealed last shooting b4 the list we knew amuro wasn't getting touched
With the CCA confirmation it really doesn't help
Sure they'll likely make up a new era right one for the Nu but just like with quattro/char, the og will still count. It would require specific stipulations to not & I can't imagine that kind of effort being put in. Even if an attempt is made to do different colors, that too can be countered in a similar fashion since Char is also getting a starter that is opposite to his current green/white.
>>
>>97914689
I like the way Duel Masters does it. There are plenty of effects that allow you to use cards on your opponent's turn (shield triggers being the most well known), but the timing is always during windows after your opponent has finished doing something and normally requires your confirmation to continue (eg. after your shields are broken, after your opponent attacks but before you declare blockers, at the end of your opponent's turn, when you would lose the game, etc.).
So you still get that mid-turn interaction but there's no risk of you missing your timing because your opponent was playing too fast.
>>
>>97914689
Depends, I think some amount can be fine but most combat tricks and counter "no u" spells are just faux interaction for brainlets that don't actually want to play around things
>>
>ramp 2
>draw 2 and trash 2
>and is a 2k counter
talk about powercreep
>>
I hate OPs purple color so much

>>97914689

every deck runs either Barbatos 1st form or starter Aile Strike.
>>
>>97914689
I'd only play games with it. I prefer being able to outwit or surprise my opponent.
All these other games are just about setting up a board state

But design philosophy always goes back to wanting tcgs to be played quickly and easily
>>
>>97914689
Depends on so many other variables as to only be a pointless argument starter, etc

The Anacaona deck has like as many monsters as it has people. I love it.
>>
>>97919018
>I prefer being able to outwit or surprise my opponent.
There's no skill in being lucky enough to draw your out. You are not outwitting anybody. It's not a surprise when you play your out. Even a Yugioh player would laugh in your face.
>Zamn, you had an Ash Blossom in your hand?! I didn't expect that, what a masterful play!

What the fuck is this deck? They just gave this shit everything and no fucking weaknesses?
>>
>>97920948
Purple can do anything it has no specific mechanic other than Don- and ramp shit, to be honest it shouldnt fucking exist
>>
>>97920891
Yugioh players have baits for hand traps to continue their deck vomit. Yugioh is basically two algorithms trying to fuck over the other.
>>
>>97920037
>>97919933
sick, these are three of the better acgs. TC may huff their own fumes but whatever else there doing they like games for being good games. alpha clash is pretty uninspired, but at least it's got solid balance.
>>
>>97920891
>>97919018
good-feeling reacts is all about having to project what the opponent is doing ahead of time and commit something to setting up the interrupt. you get that "lucky to draw your out" feel when the player interrupting didn't have to consciously choose to set the trap. having to commit is also what makes it possible to bluff the trap. if there's no mindgames it's not fun.

Honestly I think it could use more PVE modules to make it interesting. I'm not really liking it for PVP. Know which game does both really well? Ashes. Another one that Team C sucks off but rightfully so.
>>
>>97921815
Poorly designed regarding colors, OP should have been colorless and simply have a varierty of playstyles but Bandai are lazy shitty hacks that copy pastes DBS Masters and said look its a new card game.

I like what they're doing with this deck, it feels thematic.
Playing Earthling battle cards that gain Ki which Goku then takes from them to charge up a spirit bomb.

It tends to be more cancerous than not. The way Bandai does it in OPTCG and LSS does it in FaB is fine though. Very minimal in feature, but it can be devastating in consequence for the player doing it.

Fair enough, I was thinking of the Block mechanic in FaB. The wizard and elemental stuff there is pretty cancerous.
>>
>>97928084
It's only the third worst hero card they've ever printed. But yeah shit like this betrays the established you go, I go interactions. Every piece of shit broken hero ignores the design philosophy of the game so they can be an outlier and respected for it. I spit on fab's dev team, they don't know what they want anymore.
>>
>>97928245
They like shiny cards, so they keep making elemental shit because the art for that is shinier than the art for non-elemental stuff. They are simple people.

Test foils have arrived. This particular pattern is very overpowering and I will definitely try the hot/cold foil for the next sample order

Weissbro... I haven't opened weiss in 2 years now. Sold my english stuff but still holding onto my JP stuff. Just lost interest because there's no lgs that host locals anymore...
>>
>>97914689
For, but with caveats. A complete counterspell is really annoying, but conditional counter spells reward deckbuilding, sideboarding and knowing the current meta. Anything below that is a strong "for" for me too.

Duel Masters is the most overrated game on this thread
>>
Is the new MLP game good? Apparently its selling like hotcakes at one of my LGS. I didn't know people even cared about the franchise still.
>>
>>97922531
>alpha clash PVE
that's the most unique thing it has going. post-duelma magic clones are dime a dozen. just being a good version of mtg is not enough to make a game worth looking at in the 2020s. but the field for games with both pvp and pve is small so there's less competition.

>Ashes. Another one that Team C sucks off
they could afford to suck it off more. strong contender for best game in their lineup. old now though, so it doesnt get hyped.
>>
>>97929475
There's a new one now? I remember picking up a few packs when the first one came out. Seemed like it had potential, but I didn't have any brony friends at the time. I'd be interested to see how it plays.

I mean they helped save it and they made custom tokens and mats for Ashes, so you can't say it didn't have its moment in the sun.
>>
>>97929683
>>97929475
Someone posted a Japanese tutorial a while ago. It seems neat gameplay wise, but it's mainly selling because just as with their collectable cards the Chinese knocked it out of the park with visual quality.
>>
Looks like the next EBG project isn't another card game but is instead a board game. Reading between the lines makes me think they will focus down on Aidalon and Rangers as their two card games while they explore some other genres. They're building the business laterally rather than focusing only on one thing. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
>>
every single new tcg with an ip attached to it or some clout ends up selling like hotcakes for the first set/kickstarter promos. doesn't mean anything...

I'm trying to find a TCG/CCG to get into but I'd rather start digital. Anyone got any recs? I appreciate that it may be bigger games that have digital set ups so happy to get those too.
>>
>>97932360
Yugioh has the best sims for some reason. Master Duel is offical, Edopro can run on toasters, Omega has ranked ladder and you can join tournaments within the app itself, MDPro is a Ygopro fork based on Master Duel, DuelingBook is manual.
>>
>>97931355
>umas getting whored out
Hnngh
>>
>>97932360
there's this weird valley with digital clients. the big ones turn it into a whole separate business (ygo, mtga). the small indy games are are community driven. it's the games in the middle that often don't because they shut down community made stuff but also fail to replace it with anything good of their own.

I think about 80% of the games in the OP have a decent client last time we surveyed.
>>
>>97932360
Most games with a competetive scene worth half a shit have at least a fan-made simulator. Literally just pick a game and keep searching. The OP pastebins have, among a million other things, links for that too.
If you're into coomer games, you'll probably have less luck though.

>>97934781
What's your collection even look like? If it's all old era stuff no one really cares about that anymore. Heroes retire and invalidate entire sets of cards, typically. The money for flash and full art shit is probably peak value.

To me the hassle is in finding buyers. You chop that shit up piecemeal and it takes for fucking ever and you need to baby sit the business, plus guard against fraud. I just want to find someone who will take my 2020 collection up through 2025, but the only one stupid enough for that is super hard to find.
