Have any anon's here tried playing a When World's Collide campaign? Its super fun if you can get past the turbo autism to run it.
Basically heres how I DM it
>Premise
The main idea around it is that the players are beings from other worlds, be it existing properties or original works. The main idea is that its up to the GM to decide on what is allowed and what isn't like for example no canon characters and nothing too strong starting out like a Astrates from 40k or a Lich from Dungeons and Dragons. The adventures can take place in any worlds and a basic plotline can go a long way
>System
Mutants and Masterminds 3e: This system is made primarily for superhero and supervillain settings which suits WWC perfectly since it allows the players and DM to create virtually any character due to its high flexibility.
>How it's played
I usually play over Discord but Roll20 and other places that allow mutants and masterminds can really stand out and help out with such a idea!
>Examples!
Like for example in my last campaign, I had it so that Yuri from Yuri's Revenge was waging war across many worlds due to reverse engineering chronosphere tech to travel through space rather than time.
And in my current Campaign the players are multi dimensional souls in other worldly bodies all with the quest of finding Celestial weaver pieces which help the flow of space and time.
It can really allow for you to get creative.
What do you Anon's think?

To answer this question in earnest, I have never tried, simply because I don't feel capable of properly portraying a character someone else has created; I can only fill in the blanks of what I think they would do, and there would always be the nagging doubt of "would he/she actually DO that, or is that just something I'd want him/her to do" in the back of my mind.
And I don't like the idea of my own characters traveling to other universes/multiverses, because I have no idea how whatever their internal anatomy may lack would impede their ability to survive a different plane of existence, or how being removed from the ambient supernatural energies inherent to their home multiverse would affect them.
Even in our world, during the same time period, explorers accidentally genocided natives just from giving them diseases! Now consider that on not only an anachronistic level, but on a supernatural one as well.
>M&M at all
Fuck no.

This is autistic as shit but if I had to play something I guess I'd play a fire warrior from 40k or a Skaven from Fantasy Warhammer
