Primaris is supposed to be a straight upgrade to the Astartes themselves with a couple new implants during their creation

Primaris are an upgrade to space marines with the PROFOUND and SUPERIOR ability to not take more than 1 weapon type in a squad and not fit in their own vehicles.

Primaris are even bigger space marines. They were shown as being 10ft tall while space marines are 7 ft tall. There is terminator armour for primaris now.

Primaris are bigger, stronger and better.

Primaris are basically Prima(rch) marines.
Super space marines who are said to be stronger, faster, smarter, loyaler and spacier than normal space marines.
They also have three extra organs one of which involves giving them extra stronger muscles (on which process you are basically cut open with knives and your heart stops for a bit) and more resillient.
(They have one extra wound and have slender figure models thus are more marketable and have no other significant difference)

Fabulous Bill stole Alpha Primus' (the biggest, strongest, most psychic and most capable Primaris Marine) Progenoid Glands and later he raided the Gilded Sons Space Marines' geneseed vaults and made off with a pile of loot. So there aren't Chaos Primaris right now, but there will be in the future.
