Can't there be a traitor who's well-written and doesn't sound like a moron? I can only think about Erebus, and only because he is the troll of trolls.

Is it that there can't be any traitor who doesn't fall to Chaos because Chaos is literally the worst and joining it is for the mentally retarded?

Magnus joined Chaos because the choice was literally that or just lay down and die, which makes sense to me. Dunno if they have already retconned that in nu-lore though.

I wasn't expecting much from modern GW but it's still disappointing that after decades of teasing there was more to Luther's betrayal they brought the Lion back and the big reveal was "oh yeah, the way it was presented in the 2E codex? That's exactly how it went down."
