>hear LGS is hosting an indie wargaming night
>oh shit they're finally playing something that isn't 40k?
>go check it out since my friend group didn't get together, gotta support small games
>it's kill team
>it's all kill team
>we'll play some of the new Halo game if we have time
>they don't
The absolute stranglehold GW has on this hobby makes want to peel off my own skin. These retards seriously think Kill Team or the Halo shit is some height of independent game design. I swear to fuck I'm gonna go in there and run Fistful of Lead or something and cause multiple aneurysms with a game that doesn't have a single space marine.

Once you leave the GW / DnD scene /tg/ actually becomes a hobby you need to invest time and money into. If you want to play an indie game at your LGS you're going to have to set up demo games for other people to try.

This, I don't even bother asking if anyone wants to play at my store when my normal group isn't gathering. I drop an announcement that I will be there running demo games and then I do. Sometimes a couple of randos show up, often they don't. I've hooked a few.
