There was a recent announcement that both SHFigurarts and figma will make actions figures for Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider. SHF will make Tojima and figma will make Tacke.
Is this the only time where competing companies announce that they will work on the same line together? I can only think of maybe the Revoltech Izustumi for the Dungeon Meshi figmas? Stuff like Hasbro making traditional Star Wars action figures while Lego makes Star Wars building toys doesn't count since they're different categories of toys.
Usually companies are all competing and racing to make the first or best version of a character. For example, we have 3 Tanjiros, 3 Dekus and now 3 Okaruns from different brands. I know Jada wanted to do Street Fighter Alpha after they finished SF2, but Storm got their Alpha figures first.
Is competing companies collaborating together the future of toys?

This series is so good that it makes rival toy companies shake hands and collaborate so each one can play by their strengths. Absolutely based.
