only opening heman tonight, but so far he's fucking awesome. all my problems with Masterverse that made me skip the line entirely feel like they've been addressed here.

>>
>>11764611
>>11764605
He looks really good, and the articulation feels really good. There can be some improvements to the range of some joints, but they're still top notch domestic figures. At this point in time they're probably my favorites because of how the joints feel, with only Jada standing a chance (though I like MOTU more than any property they're making, so that's something).

I'm really annoyed that they have THREE movie lines, I can't decide which one I want to collect.
>>
>>11765245
Well, what better fits with your collecting habits?
>>
>>11765246
I have nearly all the origins figures, so I'd want to get the movie origins... But they look kinda bad compared to chronicles/first ones. I can't really justify $27 per figure but I will probably just go for it. First ones looks cute I guess.
The beastman looks so ugly in his 2 current figures.
>>
>>11765254
If you actually want movie figures, get Chronicles.
Only bother getting the movie Origins if you're either determined to get ALL of Origins or if you want to just stick to one line period.

The only movie Origins I have any intention of definitely getting is Karg because even if they make 87 Karg, I was never a big fan of how he looked anyway, so best case scenario nuKarg will mog the old one and worst case its another bad look so one Kargs as good as another.
Gygor I'd only get movie movie Origins if it's movie or nothing.
And Goat Man I'll ONLY buy in his traditional design or just won't have an Origins Goat Man.
Everyone else in the movie I've already got my preferred versions in Origins or I don't want thrm at all
>>
>>11765245
>>11765254
For chronicles I’m getting heman, battle cat and trapjaw only. I’ll hold out for 200x versions of everyone else in that scale.

I plan on mixing and mashing the core line and origins for the bigger guys like Beastman, trapjaw, spikor and anybody else that is bigger than human size in the movie.

>>
>>11765363
If you're lucky you can still find the set in discounters like ROSS. I found mine there. It's very worth the money. I'm on the look out for the Skelly and He-man trucks now. I hope they reissue the Battle Cat truck too because paying more than 3 bucks for these things hurts.
>>
I still think the fleshtone body on the He-man car was a bad call. Pic related isnt that much better but it's less awkward. I tried extending the orange but the color kept getting darker for some reason.

>>11765245
Typical braindead media tie in piss poor slop fest decision. Why are there always like 5 separate Star wars lines all on the shelf at the same time? There should be 1-2 lines max. Put all the actual effort into the main line. It's already retarded that motu has 2 "main" lines with like an inch's height difference. Why cannibalize your own sales? It's absolutely fucking retarded.
>>
>>11765436
Agreed, it's easily the worst looking of the five. Flesh tone is not a good look for a car.
>>
>>11765436

I just found the new Chronicles figures. I only got He-Man. My collector impulses were pushing me to get Man at Arms and Triklops but I didn’t. I don’t really like figures of black guys (or women) and I resent the fact they race swapped those characters

They really cant top that original Skeletor character car. It's just perfect. At this point they should consider basing new character cars off each skelly and he-man variant. I'd scoop up the dragon blaster and thunder punch rods. I'm hoping they make other MOTU character cars too but it's kind of a pipedream at this point. Orko as a forklift could have been fun...
>>
>>11765790
>>11765798
that's a great looking faker. I feel like they could pretty easily recolor the 5-pack they already made and I'd be happy.

GitD Scare Glow car
Clamp Champ pincer grabs car in front of it
Blast-Attak car splits in half
Snout Spout the elephant fire truck
Leech with suction cup on front and suction hubcaps

Grizzlor car with rooted hair

>>
>>11766321
I don't really expect it, but you know what WOULD sell me wholesale on this Roboto?
Remember the Ultra Magnus/Minimus Ambus shit in IDW Transformers?
Imagine if what we see here is like an outer shell/Hulkbuster armor kinda deal, and the real Roboto is inside and looks like rule 63 vintage Roboto the way you'd expect her to look? Would you consider that at least the lesser of two evils, if not good?

>>11766322
Me.
Surprisingly I'm also kinda hype for Karg and idk why. I've always been someone that's shit on Karg...do I come to realize I've secretly been a Karg fan all this time and didn't know it?
>>
>>11766331
>Imagine if what we see here is like an outer shell/Hulkbuster armor kinda deal, and the real Roboto is inside and looks like rule 63 vintage Roboto the way you'd expect her to look? Would you consider that at least the lesser of two evils, if not good

That could be cool but alot would hinge on the characterization of fem-roboto. I'd ultimately have still preferred an OC to doing Roboto this dirty. I dont get why the movie went out of its way to raceswap so many characters when we had other races in the vintage line. I mean for crying outloud we turned Jitsu into a hero in Masterverse!

Anyways I hope you get a good Karg out of this just as much as I hope for a good Gygor. I know it's nitpicky but man I wish Saurod were here. The entire 87 movie cast is back but him! Maybe he'll have a shot at appearing in a sequel focused on the snegs.
>>
What are the odds that this set is legit movie spoilers?
Like we see in the trailer He-Man, Roboto, Teela and Duncan rock up to Snake Mountain, and we see the scene where Skeletor has the King in the snakes mouth when He-Man confronts him.

So like what if this one box back is legitimately He-Man's penultimate fight, he has to beat Karg, Spikor and Goat Man before he gets to have his final fight with Skeletor?
And what if the inclusion of Evil-lyn and Gygor in the set indicate them as the opponents for Teela and Roboto (since shes fuck huge too)?
And I guess Duncan either plays cleanup on Skel-Knights and Pig Boy or the final battle has an extra villain not in the set?
>>
>>11766338
if the "main 5" for this movie are going to be Adam the protagonist, Teela the love interest, Cringer the cowardly lion?, and Duncan the mentor, that really only leaves Roboto with a role like Groot- quirk chungus funny robot who doesn't get social queues. I can imagine the body type was an intentional choice so no one wants to fuck it.
>>
>>11766340
Very likely. Can’t wait to see it play out.
>>
>>11766341
I’d still fuck it.
>>
>>11766340
>>11766342
I'd be surprised if they werent direct recreations of the film's events. Everything seems way too specific to be an asspull. Compare the mega sets to the sort of shit lego put out for avengers endgame. You can tell we're dealing with a different beast here. Not to mention how collector focused this crop of MOTU movie setd appear to be.
>>
>>11766338
I will never get why Saurod has gotten so shafted over the years.
Like I realize that Blade, Karg and Pig Boy have never been huge, but at least they see routine use in comics, cartoons and now a new movie. Saurod gets basically nothing. Like, he's Twistoid tier at this point.
What makes the other three 87 movie villains more attractive to the creatives than Saurod?
>>
>>11766341
>that really only leaves Roboto with a role like Groot- quirk chungus funny robot who doesn't get social queues
That's so nauseatingly plausible I hate it.
>>11766358
Right? I mean compare him to Blade. Are we really gonna act like the bald guy with an eyepatch is more of a draw for fans than the robocop dinosaur with guns? The worst part of it all is how fragile his vintage release is. Give some respect to Saurod for crying outloud.
>>

>>11766364
I'll always be a Skelcon guy
The Skel-Knights are quickly growing on me but I don't think theyll ever overtake Skelcons
The Skeleton Warriors I kinda got a little bored with for the same reason I never liked beast men or aquaticans....they're the junior version of a named henchman (Scareglow)
The Stormtroopers and Hoverbots I think suck compared to all of the above.
>>
>>11766375
Skelcons are definitely underrated. I'm surprised nobody has attempted to intstitute a death-based hierarchy among Skeletor's minions. You'd think the guy who looks like a muscle bound grim reaper would have an army of death guys at his beck and call. Of all those named the Skelcons look the most like godless abominations created to carry out his bidding. Hell I can see Skelly's different henchmen having a part in creating each variety of goon.
>Evil-Lyn cooked up the skeleton warriors and skel-knights
>Scareglow cooked up the Skelcons
>Triklops created the Skeletroopers as precursors to Faker

Way more.
One of his last movies in theater that made decent money was as a singer, across Anne Hathaway as his MILF love interest.
He's often playing asshole jock types or just jocks.
And he rarely gets lead roles, he's actually about to be in theaters (small role) as a doofus reporter in the next Hugh Jackman movie coming out in a week or two:

Pic related is probably the best action figure Mattel has ever made, but that’s not saying much.
Pros:
-Overall body proportions are excellent
-Most of the new “import-style” joints work great
They’re really on the right track here but this is where my enjoyment ends
Cons:
-Ugly, gay looking headsculpt with very weak paintjob. His eyes are too close together.
-Multiple useless joints
Ball jointed shoulders but they have hindered range of motion in every direction. Double ball jointed Ab crunch that barely moves
Terrible hip design that has virtually no swivel
This new buck is so close to being a win but in actuality it’s still a hard L

And at twice the size and a tenth the price of import counterparts!

>Only about 6 weeks out from the premier

I didn't stop to think about how close we were until today.

Fucking stoked

Yeah, the shills actually earned their money this last week after CinemaCon
Their spoiler videos kinda worked on me.

>failure of his stooges
And Skeletor thinks his new soldiers will be any better? Maybe it was Skeletors own shortcomings that prevented his win?

>>11766383
General, maybe a leader type of soldeires.

Can't speak about Walmart since I rarely get to those stores to talk to employees - all WM "near" me are like several freeway trips, several suburbs, or even several counties and multiple freeways away from my home.
Target, OTOH, I've even talked to the store leads and the movie/electronics people have nothing to do with the Collector's Corner by them, it's stocked by the vendors and maintained by the regular toy employees (which is why sometimes you find stock in both areas that should only be in one).

Target's already putting the Origins x Transformers on clearance in endcaps.
And the Masterverse Faker, Stratos and 1-2 others have been in Ross stores for at least two weeks if not longer at $9.99

Hey Mr. Home Arcade...are you black or some kind of mexican? I can't tell.
>>
>>11767627
He’s lily white
>>
>only 20 will be made

What is the point? Is this normal for German conventions?
>>
>>
He's here
>>
>>11767900
Let's see it in action! Is it worth the hype/price? I ended up only going for Clawful, I think I'm happy waiting for Chronicles to hit 200x, if ever, and otherwise I'd just pick favorites or cool exclusives from the Mondo line.
>>
>>11767938
I'll post more thoughts later, but I wanted to take a quick pic of him with his "vest" accessory. First impression he feels good in hand. Plastic quality reminds me of my Storm collectibles street fighter figures. The paint smell will knock you back when first opening him so fair warning to open him in a ventilated area.
>>
>>11767900
Wait, are they shipping? I have Clawful ordered from Mondo, should I be expecting a notice soon? Fuckin' nice.
>>
>>11767970
clawful is supposed to ship in june
>>
>>11767962
I’m just not feeling it and the price isn’t justifiable to me. I hope you like him though.

He a big boi.

>>11767877
it's just a resin printed piece. probably a raffle prize for the convention. I was hoping the skeletor art was for the sketchbook target exclusive.

Like the head sculpt, height looks better (less squat) than the movie ones, and certainly the cartoon ones, and the sword (if it comes with this) is definitely a win, but otherwise it doesn't look like hundreds of dollars more of value than the movie/cartoon, etc. etc. ones.

I can order a good head sculpt and a good sword for about 10-25 each, depending on how much I want to spend.
>>
>>11767982
Are those bigger bare torso and upper arms new? The feet must be, and yet they made basically human male bare feet instead of furry beast ones.
>>
>>11767982
damn, i was thinking of gettinh im to slap the head and fur on another beastman but it probably won't work
>>
>>11767900
>>11767962
Nice. Haven't seen a ship order for mine yet. But I am excited !
>>
>>11768015
It's the Andre the Giant buck with new furry forearms and legs, hands and feet.
>>
>>11767982
>>11768025
I think TJ is also gonna be a big fig since he has the same torso and would explain the deluxe price.
>>
>>11768026
>>
>>11768032
This is why I’m buying origins for the bigger guys and core for everyone that’s normal sized

Fuck, I would have ordered two had I known
>>

Nice! do post more impressions and pics when you can. I have Skeletor ordered, but I'm still debating getting He-man.
>>
>>11768032
With those feet, MOTWWE is definitely getting a Megator characters this time around. Giant Gonzalez would be cool. Could even reuse the hairy arms and legs.

new tri-klops is a very cool gijoe

Having in hand I do feel the $95 price (before taxes, shipping, tariff) is a little steep. $70 for what we get would have been more palatable. Overall I do like him. He's fun to mess with and pose. Though I wish the pegs for the hands were tighter as they can come loose along with the wristbands which should have been glued on. Also wish he came with instructions. It was only by accident I figured out how to remove the armor so I could take the sponge shirt off.

Why is his pec white like he was wearing a bikini
>>

There’s a dc sniper joke somewhere
>>
>>11768371
The body suit would be mandatory. You could almost get away with just repainting the head, Gonzalez had a beard.
I think movie beastman looks like danhausen's face paint.
>>
>>11768493
I thinking its some type of shading. You can kinda see some on his face but its not as noticeable. At least I hope its shading and not paint rub as the whole figure is painted.
>>
>>11768486
Yeah $95.00 is pretty crazy, and then shipping (at least to where I live) is $50.00, and while he DOES look really good, and he may be one of the best if not the best He-man out there, I just don't think is worth it, This just may be the way the current market works and me having crazy expectations that don't match reality, I'm sure that's at least some of it.

>>11768491

That shield is funking huge, which is accurate to 200x but I guess only now I realized just how big lol.
>>
>>11768486
>>11768491
>>11768498
I’ll wait for chronicles. This is just an overly expensive display piece you aren’t really meant to move around often. It does LOOK cool.
>>
>>11768469
He really is weirdly modern Army.
Makes me imagine other MotU characters done in that H.E.M.A.N. military style in the art book between the end of vintage MotU and the New Adventures.
>>
This guy will be available on MC starting May 6 (24-hour Club Grayskull access, but when was the last time that mattered?).
>>
I cut open Chronicles Man-At-Arms and I got some awful QC issues. There's globs of hardened glue and that frost effect all over his thighs where they used some adhesive to connect the armor plates, plus the double joint on his arm was stuck. Even after some hot water, it still snapped right off. So, be careful when buying and hold onto your receipts anons.
>>
>>11768564
I just won’t buy man at arms lol
>>
>>11768486
What is even the point of a double joint elbow on this fig if it can't past 89degrees?
