CG-Man Grayskull for me

Really happy with this one for how much it cost. Love the little detachable bone pod things.
>>
>>11765342
It's good but it ain't the Batcave.
>>
>>11765551
Unfortunately, to get a really good Wayne Manor, we'd have to custom a Barbie dream house or something.

>>11765551
And people complain about repaints and reuse now.

I always loved playsets that could be closed down to be stored as a kid. For me it was the Micromachines Death Star.

Whether it be the 7-foor aircraft carrier, terrordrome, or the defiant launch complex, no one did playsets better than 80s GI Joe.
>>
>>11765800
The only thing that bugged me about the Terrordrome was how did they get down from the top floor
>>
>>11765827
Most multi-level toys didn't add in elevators or staircases, and it bugged me too. Kids had to have their figures "pretend-hop" their way to the upper level.

>be kid in 1985
>the firebat is constantly shown in the cartoon
>want one really badly
>1986 comes around
>Hasbro decides to release Firebat
>BUT it comes bundled with a base playset the parents of most kids can't afford
>most kids never get one
>Hasbro later offers it
>must collect flag points because they won't outright sell it to you

This was easily the biggest dick move in the original ARAH line.
>>
>>11765899
I think the Firebat was originally meant to be sold on it's own. That's why it showed up in grey in the previous season. But for some reason, they held off and decided to bundle it with the Terrordrome.
>>

>Micromachines

That's action fleet you dunce.
But I agree, I literally was going to post the action fleet hoth playset as my favorite of all time.
>>
>>11765985
When considering how long toy development time is, they knew in 1985 that the Firebat was going to be expensive. They made kids really want it before dropping the big price tag on us.

Then contribute to the non-boomer focused ones doofus >>11762927

They eventually released a modified one in the VR troopers line. That's something.

And it was so badly altered to accomodate bigger figures that it was unusable as a Firebat.
>>
>>11765997
Action Fleet was a subline of Micromachines you dunce. See the Micromachines logo above the Star Wars logo?
>>
>>11765550
I like that slow descending drawbridge after sticking the sword into the holes.
>>
>>11765351

It kind of reminds me of the lander from Aliens too.

One at a time in the Firebat.
>>
>>11766164
these playsets were absolute kino, I liked the Hot one a lot

Also this was one of the coolest playsets that I didn't keep for very long. I didn't know how cool I had it, man.
>>
>>11766245
so no spooning in the Firebat?
>>
>>11766261
If you try that while it's in flight, you're gonna have a bad time.
>>
>>11766297
you will with THAT attitude
>>
>>11765800
If my parents were to have some how been able to buy this for me I wouldve had to rely on extended family in order to get a figure for it.

Wow I had both of these. Haven't thought about this in forever. You got a lot of playset in a small package
>>
>>
>>11766164
There were at least 5 micro machines death star playsets.

There is one action fleet death star. Literally no one calls action fleet micro machines, except for you.
>>
>>11766164
>>11765997
Ok I was gonna say. I definitely remember they were Micromachines.

>>11766352
Soul.

>>11766355
I also had the messed up Vadee Tie Fighter so I would always land it in the death star and pretend to repair it.

There were also those little character heads that opened up like Mighty Max and would fit 1 character. I can't believe shit like that would amuse me so much and I liked it better than real action figures.

I kinda want to get the larger C3PO head just because its chrome.

>>11766387
They are and will always be Micromachines, bud.

Also didn't some other company do something similar a few years ago.

>Literally no one calls action fleet micro machines, except for you.
I wasn't the anon that originally said it. I was just playing devil's advocate and pointing out that he was technically correct.
Amazon also list it as Micro Machines:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WBA2U0/
And eBay sellers:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Micro+Machines+Action+Fleet+death+star
At least it's technically correct, unlike all the fuckers that list the Double Takes Death Star as Action Fleet when it wasn't.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/117150137353

Hell, I used the regular Micro Machines minifigures in my Action Fleet one because I didn't like the AF figures except as pilots in the ship cockpits.
>There were at least 5 micro machines death star playsets
I've been racking my brain trying to think of them all. There was pic related, Stormtrooper head/DS1, Royal Guard head/DS2, Double Take DS/Tatooine, Action Fleet, and I seem to remember a DS Trench Run one that might have been a lightsaber? Was that all of them?
>>
>>11766349
It came with a figure (AVAC - Firebat pilot).
>>
>>11765620
>>11766164
>>11766480
Had all of these as a kid. Action Fleet had a lot of amazing sets. The rancor that could eat the small figurines was the best of the lot imo, but the Death Star playset with Vader’s tie fighter is close.
>>
>>11766755
You mean micro machines

>>11766755
I had that one. I actually traded a kid for it at my house and then he told his mom that I took it from him so he could keep both toys. I told her we traded and my mom said she bought it for me.

Anyway, honestly I still remember how well painted the figure figure looked, and how it had the handcuff chains.
>>
>>11766864
Yeah, it was a very nice paint job, and I’m surprised mine has held up without a scratch or a nick or any plastic degradation. Sometimes you got a potf figure that might be a little sticky years later, but not whatever the micro machines brand was using. Every time I go to an expo/convention, people are always shilling g the idea that toy quality sucked until the mid-2000s with 3d sculpts, etc., but there are a lot, like these, that have stood the test of time well.
>>
>>
>>11766923
That's funny because I feel like older toys were much higher quality plastic. Sticky plastic seems to be more of a post 2000s thing because they wanted some softer/cheaper.
>>
>>11766762
Yeah. Kind of ironic that Star Wars licensing blew up micro machines big time but also contributed to its overall downfall after hasbro scooped up Galoob.
>>11767134
I have lots of 90s toys. The only ones I’ve had plastic problems with are Playmates brands (TMNT, Trek). Occasionally a later wave potf2 with softer plastic for an accessory will get a bit sticky in places, but not a big deal. Or a few G2 TF or beast wars figures that have special kinds of plastic on their bodies somewhere.

Only playset I knew no one else would have around my neighborhood was the Hillhurst Manor playset from Big Bad Beetle Borgs.
>>
>>11767640
TBF I barely saw the Power Dome playset as a kid. I assumed it was a myth until I got internet access in the aughties.
>>
>>11767640
That's a good pick. I never saw anyone own it and didn't even know it existed till internet became widespread. This is my pic for rare/uncommon playset, I only knew one kid that had one and he wouldn't even let me play with it because his parents didn't want him to lose the small parts.
>>
>>11765342
As a kid I was under the impression that you had to pour ooze(which I did not have) through that medical bay hole thing on the left
>>
>>11768094
You did didn't you? I thought they showed that in the commerical
>>
>>11768095
Oh yeah I see it now. I never had the ooze though.
>>

I don't wanna.

the wall-e. sadly lost in moving out

OH NO! An OOOZE scanner! A BRAIN scrambler! And MUTANT MANACLES!
