I'm doing a data science certificate at the local university myself. Really low level stuff, just graphing data and using basic ML regressions on datasets. It's kinda nice, I like fiddling with data and making visualizations. I'm really hoping this helps me get a job soon...

I intuit sleep paralysis is basically dreaming with your eyes open. Your body wakes up, but your brain is still asleep. Probably follows the same level of consciousness, too. I wouldn't know, I am a heavy sleeper and have never had it.
In fact, I have been unconsciously turning my alarms off since I was 16. I set three alarms within 5 minutes so that I eventually wake up, but some days I just sleep through all three of them. I got anxiety medication recently, and a strange side effect of it has been miraculously fixing my heavy sleeping, which is a nice bonus.
