Mid is the worst thing your series can be. If it’s bad, you can give critique and enjoy how bad it is, but with mid series, it’s just unremarkable garbage that everyone will forget about once they stop shoving it down everyone’s throats. I actually love redredhat, because it does something the Slenderverse never dared to do before: take romance seriously. The community as it exists today doesn’t need DH00 action or EMH lore. We need the missing human spark, and redredhat definitely delivers on making both Carmen and her relationship feel human. She has aspirations, flaws, and she can experience emotions other than fear of, or anger at, the Slender Man. It’s doing things very differently and I commend it for that. Obviously it’s crossover central which isn’t really my thing per se, but it’s still refreshing to see a protagonist who acts like a normal person.

"By and large" describes a ship that can sail both upwind (by) and downwind (large).
"Under the weather" is nautical in nature, but its origins seem to be unsure. It can refer to the weather bow, where ill sailors stood under because it's less turbulent, or weather shore, where the water is calm.
"Above board" has two different origin stories: one is that the gamblers, when they want to cheat, would put their hands under the table (the titular "board"), so if they keep their hands above the table, they're not cheating. It's somewhat upsetting to me that the response to the Unknowingly's suicide attempt has been more or less just glazing his singular project. It's been like that ever since he started getting 'harassed' (criticism) for his series and I think people calling his slideshow a 10/10 series will just draw more eyes and more negative press to it. Obviously I don't think anyone should be harassed into attempting to take their own life, but at the same time the response mostly being "guys that's bad this series is so peak actually" is the content creator equivalent of thoughts and prayers.
