Yeah, they definitely feel more like actual characters than other cartoons out there, especially the random porn OCs that we see in most other art. It certainly does remind me of a better time where the show helped me through a rough patch as well. Oddly enough, I had a thought that reminds me of why I got into MLP in the first place. I was watching Invincible, and I started getting a bit dissatisfied with the show, and thinking "Why does it have to be so grim all the time" which was exactly the problem that was solved by getting into MLP.

It'll probably just make me sad at this point because of how good the fandom used to be, and how hard it is to find the great old content I used to watch. I was a big enjoyer of reviewers, and their little shared cinematic universe of collabs.

Like I say every time this particular topic comes up, I like to practice a little gratitude. Just recently, a mangaka got run off of Twitter by alleged "fans", and it helps remind me how welcoming and fun the MLP fandom still is. Sure, it's not comparable to what it was at the absolute peak, but it never sunk to the depths like other fandoms have after their shows ended.

That's why I wanted to do a panel for an online con, to prove we still got it.

It always seemed to me that the most unique aspect of MLP was the fact they were actually ponies; and the novelty, that you could not get anywhere else, was seeing "actual" pony porn. I'd say that, if not for MLP, there would be less than a fraction of a percent of pony porn there is now (somewhat obviously.) Therefore, when I think about making something MLP related, it always seems like one "should" do it in pony form, to capitalize on the novelty and uniqueness of MLP.

At the same time, though, I do prefer anthro ponies by a decent margin. Most importantly, I never really liked the lower-waist pony tit thing, and find the anthro form a lot more aesthetic. You can have fat-assed ponies, but you can't really do fat-titted ponies in a natural way. So I would be inclined to do anthro pony stuff do. But, it kind of fills me with regret to do so, since as mentioned it seems like its shirking the one thing which makes MLP truly unique and special. I did a little soul searching after being confronted with the conflict. What I eventually settled on was that anthro ponies are for seggs and fetishes, and normal ponies are for cuddles and love. You can try to mix the two with unguligrade anthro, which is definitely more cute.
