You will needed to be escorted by someone armed and you will need a fixer to navigate all the corruption. Just go to the countries with established safe tourism. The armed guards will be discretely out of view, you'll have some semblance of freedom and you're far less likely to catch beaver fever on the first day. You're not going to be seeing the "real africa" being escorted everywhere by armed guards anyway.

My father has when he worked in oil and gas. He wasn't even allowed to leave the compound without an armed security detail.

Sudan was totally chill up until 2019, I remember following the blog of a cute German bikepacker girl who would camp by the roadside and hang out with. I’ll be keeping an eye on the situation there, it’s meant to have the world’s best coral reefs

DRC is mostly fine
as long as you speak French!!!
and avoid the active conflict areas
no clue about the others

though if you feel it, I can really recommend the DRC
the Congo Basin is (imo) the most incredible place in the world

my current travel maxim

and these also tend to be the places that are the most worth to travel to
no clue why you'd want to go to e.g. Chad or Somalia, just generally boring countries in every dimension

I just looked into CAR a bit. Its truly crazy how they live there. Its so much different than life in the civilized world. I cant even imagine what life is like there. Life in europe has a lot of cons but i would never trade it for something like that. Its truly crazy how resource rich that country is but is one of the poorest in the world. The stupidity of a black man is astounding. For all those centuries they arent able to do something good for themselves as a whole group. Thinking only short term, and only in terms of violence. Its easy to blame corporations for exploiting them and i do blame them but they are also to blame for letting themselves to be exploited. If they cared about eachother and if they stopped to think for just a second they would be able to do some good for themselves. They dont seem to be able to organize themselves. They would sell their mom for a pack of cigs. They have no loyalty, no intelligence, no integrity, no skills and no ethics.
