I know that feel. I went last year for the first time in my life. BKK and Chiang Mai. CM was whatever but BKK was great. Everyone in BKK, both Thai and foreigner alike, told me that Phuket is even better, so I'm seriously feeling the itch to go check it out. I've decided to wait until low season.

I saw and did so much cultural, touristy stuff in BKK and Chiang Mai that I feel I've checked nearly every box when it comes to "appreciating Thai culture" or whatever.
