Is Austin worth visiting?

Is this from that car-hate subreddit? Dude literally stops driving after 1 beer, doesn't look like he weighs 50 lbs. And then he just drives to Supermarkets and seethes while he lingers shots on pickup trucks. LOL.
Um, short answer: yes. If only because the comedy scene there makes the shitlib NYC comics seethe so much.

Not particularly. It's a good place to work.

Probably one of the more interesting cities in Texas from a tourist standpoint
>>
yes, it has very interesting food choices. From international level private sushi restaurants to down-to-earth Texas BBQ, its great. Music scene is great as well, got your normie music festival scene and the more underground niche clubs. Very strange but cool place. You'll have high-class hotels but have some random buffet BBQ on the bottom floor facing the downtown sidewalk. You'll have areas where you think you're in Mexico- cross a few city blocks in you're in a college town. Wild.
>car hate retard
these leftist Commies are so deluded. Go to Texas which is one of the most ENORMOUS states in the world and complains you need a car to get around. Fucking entitled pussies. Meanwhile the rest of us are enjoying the freedom of owning fast machines.

Who travels to watch some closeted fag with a fetish whine about trannies on stage?
>>
>>2873835
I agree, but that's only a testament to how dull the rest of the state is.

If you are transiting America cross-country via the southern states, yes Austin is worth visiting. But is it worth going from somewhere far away to see Austin on a roundtrip ticket? Absolutely not.
>>2873832
Yep, you work 50 weeks a year to pay for the car that takes you to and from work everyday. Remember, cars are freedom, goy!
>>
The neighborhoods are very Hispanic and dirty. The bars are old and rundown. It's not safe to park your car and hike on the edge of town because it'll get broken into. But the BBQ was amazing.

The best day we had in Austin was leaving the city to go to New Braunfels to go tubing on the Comal river. If I ever went back to that area, I'd stay in New Braunfels and just drive into Austin for a day.

Libs: Multiculturalism is an undisputed good
>A subculture emerges in Austin of comics poking fun at societal painpoints
Libs: Not like that!
Yeah there are parts of the U.S. where castrating kids is still considered barbaric and evil. Hate to be the one to let you know. Enjoy infinity podcasts whining about these backwards hicks making fun of trannies though.

Nobody is traveling for that when they can watch you zoo animals on /pol/. Sorry that you live in a dump. kek
>>
>>2873923
I'm sure you'll pass someday. Better stay in your little delusion bubble where everyone is terrified to tell you what they really think.
>>
>>2873823
No, it's lame. Yeah they have a music scene but other than that, i'd save your shekels for somewhere else.
>>
>>2873923
Let's be honest, /pol/ shitposters are funnier than the wack pack that shows up for Kill Tony. Those Austin Comedy Scene fags fundamentally are not funny.

there are a lot of good hipster restaurants
it's probably worth visiting

I love Austin and think it's the center of everything cool about Texas, but I'm also biased because I lived there for 10 years until just last week. It's still primarily a city for Texans; I don't think the average outsider would appreciate it beyond big events like ACL Live, SXSW, F1, the Rodeo, unless you're big into live music. You can find a show just about anywhere at any time, although it does slow down a bit during summer when some of the local bands go on tour.
We have some more local oriented festivals like Eeyore's Birthday, and used to have Aqua Festival. Other than that, some of the sights are 6th St, the Texas Capitol, the University of Texas, Barton Springs.
Food is fantastic, especially the BBQ and tacos. There are some great parks and places to stretch your legs, despite what the gayboy in the video implies. People are generally friendly and there are a lot of neighborhood hangouts and bars, where I think the true Austin is rather than downtown. But it gets more expensive every year as tech bros move in and price out the people who made Austin cool.
