Am Australian who would like to visit Scotland for a week or two at some point. Or just anywhere in the UK that’s green and hill-y and not crowded. Is it worth it? What are some things I should know about travelling to the UK?

Spend at least one day in Edinburgh. City is gorgeous.

The Hebrides and Orkneys are starkly beautiful with more sheep than people and some amazing Neolithic sites. Be prepared for wet windy weather, but if you live the outdoors it’s some of the best nature in Western Europe. You can get a similar vibe in the Highlands if you don’t have time for the ferry ride.
