I just found out I got perma banned from a car rental agency in the US. An employee had an issue with me a few years back and must have reported me, since I’ve never had any outstanding balances or anything like that and always paid the bill immediately. I didn’t even know you could be blacklisted from a car rental company unless you didn’t pay your bill or totaled a car or whatever, kek. Pretty absurd.

Is there a way you can get off the do not rent list or are you pretty much screwed? I tried calling their customer service number but it just rings and goes to voicemail.

My best guess is that it was a clerical error (very common), or you happen to have the same name as a problematic customer (less common, but not unheard of). If they really had a problem with you, they should've contacted you.

Do Not Rent lists are serious business, last a lifetime, and is chain wide (global). The only way to resolve it is to grovel, beg, and ultimately pay restitution to the chain in question.

You’re being put in your place, and rightfully so.
