You might be right. Looks like there's tons of hotel availability in bkk and reddit has posts about how traffic is noticably lighter, hotel workers are mentioning it's slow, middle easterners are noticably less, etc.

Flights from India to Thailand have definitely gone up in price. I was seeing flights for as low as $90 one-way before this shitstorm kicked off, $150 roundtrip. Just checked and roundtrips are now starting at $350 from Delhi. Most one-way tickets are $200+.

I'll be making the trip no matter the cost. An extra $100 in airfare doesn't matter much when measured against eight months of travel around the entire circumference of the earth. But for a group of jeets taking a vacation, the extra cost makes a big difference.

Just paid $239 for a 2200 km flight from Kathmandu to Bangkok in June. Nepal Airlines has always been pricey, so this fare is only a little higher than the historical average of $200 or so.
