Yes, it’s good here. You just need to have a bit of money to spare…

Appalachia doesn’t look like this.
>5x as expensive
You can save alot of money by tenting or staying at small cabins at caravan parks
>everyone was snooty and cold
Not really, in rural Norway you can strike up conversations with locals pretty easily.
>>
>>2875955
it literally would if it were colder and next to the ocean
its the exact same mountains on the other side of the tectonic plate
>You can save alot of money by tenting or staying at small cabins
I already stay in small cabins and it aint cheap, only gonna be double what I pay now to be in norway, you pay an absurd price for appalachia by the sea
>Not really, in rural Norway you can strike up conversations with locals pretty easily.
um no

Yes they were connected millions of years ago, but they are nowhere the same. Apalachia is inland and more eroded while also not being particularly covered in glaciers the past million years so you don’t have as dramatic landscape as the fjords of Norway.
The tallest mountain in Apalachia is also notably shorter than many Norwegian mountains.
You also don’t need to deal with bearing the witness of the horrific decline of quality of life that they have in Apalachia.
> I already stay in small cabins and it aint cheap
How much?
> um no
yes

>Apalachia is inland and more eroded while also not being particularly covered in glaciers the past million years
I literally already said this
glaciers just means its so cold snow doesn't melt and this causes a fuckton more erosion
its just colder climate appalachia by the sea at 5x the price, its a place for suckers
i wish your corrupt oil money could be distributed to the poor people of appalachia and norway fully depopulated for good
let it go back to being owned by lemmings
>How much?
it depends but usually 100-160~ a night sometimes a bit more for a cabin with a full kitchen and 1 bdrm/main bed
>You also don’t need to deal with bearing the witness of the horrific decline of quality of life that they have in Apalachia.
its kinda fun to see all the abandoned homes its like a game show in real life except there are no prizes, just booby traps
>The tallest mountain in Apalachia is also notably shorter than many Norwegian mountains.
by about 1400 ft, its not that bigly a difference

>apalachia is just a colder, more elevated Florida
You see the problem with this reductionist logic?
> it depends but usually 100-160~ a night sometimes a bit more for a cabin with a full kitchen and 1 bdrm/main bed
How about $80?
> by about 1400 ft, its not that bigly a difference

well no, geologically florida isn't appalachia
appalachia is the ridge and valley mtns and the higher elevation plateaus that branch out beyond them to the immediate west
>80 a night
yeah and all the food is triple the cost what it is here
all supplies cost far more
you pay a huge tax for having mountains by the sea in a white ppl country
norway is bland and sanitized
appalachia is raw and energetic

Norway is overrated, I really expected more.
I am from Washington state though and I didn't feel like Norway had anything the American west didn't. Maybe some larger more impressive Fjords but that's really it.
Norway is prohibitevly expensive. The transportation infrastructure is lacking. The narrow Mountain/coastal roads are flooded with German tourists in campers every summer and driving anywhere is a frustrating prospect. The rail network is lacking.
Norwegians themselves are some of the most stuck up people in the word and are wholly unpleasant to deal with. The big cities are shut down by 10pm. A beer cost 13 dollars at a pub.
If you're going to Norway for purely /out/ activities and adhere to a strict budget it's fine. Otherwise, fuck that place.
>inb4 stupid American
Yeah I know, but you I'm right

If you can’t see the sarcasm in what I said, I’m afraid you probably have autismo.

Rent a car wtf

>Rent a car
I did. Driving in Norway is frustrating and boring. The speed limits are turbo cuck slow the rental companies try to force you into a gay electric car. The road infrastructure is lacking. You'd think with all that oil money you'd build some bridges and not need to take ferries across half the fjords.
>Poor and fat
Not sure how praising the /out/ qualities of the country implies that. I was genuinely disappointed by the soulless urban centers of Bergen and Stavanger. The Neo commie-block housing present everywhere is particularly drab.
>Northern lights
Happens regularly enough.

as someone from Norway you are 100% right, there is nothing here besides mountains which you can see for much cheaper in other places. I have travelled the world more myself without travelling Norway because even if you live here the prices for travel are obscene

Chart related makes burgers confused and angry

That’s the price of living in a very archipelagic country which none of your states are like.
Besides those bridges ain’t cheap. Ferries are SOVLfull and a big draw to appreciate the emerald-blue fjords.
> I was genuinely disappointed by the soulless urban centers of Bergen and Stavanger. The Neo commie-block housing present everywhere is particularly drab.
>visiting Norway for the cities, when I’ve constantly highlighted the nature instead
Besides Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen are actually quite nice in the older parts, with preserved traditional coastal architecture unlike Oslo. There are also numerous charming villages along the Western coast.
Even Southern Norway has very pretty villages.

hva faen…åssen kan du si det når du ikke engang har reist

Bli ferdig med studiene…det er helt vanlig å ta en ferie en gang i blant til vestlandet med en rusten skoda og teltet til pappa.

>Can I legit just camp out in random bushes and forests as long as they are outside the city areas and are public land?
As long as you are 150m away from any private building and on land where camping is not explicitly prohibited(obvious signage present), you can camp basically anywhere.
>how are the hoes there ?
easy

Car travel is expensive, inefficient and boring with no easy and simple public transportation option
>Yes, it's actually a good thing that the speed limit is 70km and you have to plan your day around ferry timetables, because soul.
You're being a retarded Norwegian again bro. Also pretty much all of coastal Maine has substantial archipelagos, in addition to Maryland, Rhode Island and North Carolina. Even metropolitan Seattle is heavily integrated with outlaying island.

akshuly 80, and if you had decent cognitive abilities(or no autism), you’d comprehend that you don’t really save that much time going from 50 to 60mph.
> Also pretty much all of coastal Maine has substantial archipelagos, in addition to Maryland, Rhode Island and North Carolina.
Yeah but they’re flat plains rather than masive mountains rising 500m up from the shore.
>Pudget Sound
like a little baby compared to the entirety of Norway’s coast.

Euros get so mad when you point out that you already have a better version of their natural wonders in America. Pic rel
At this point you're just contradicting yourself about car travel.

Why are Norwegians like this?
In good faith though, I'll admit there was a little bit of Paris syndrome with Norway. I expected a lot and was let down. With the wealth of the country I expected something more similar to Switzerland who's geography is just as challenging but still manages to have great transportation infrastructure. While the Swiss aren't bashful about their wealth they don't try to hide it and society accepts it as part of their daily life. Norwegians on the other hand seem to pretend that they don't actually have money. While the picture you posted is nice but it's not the reality of the country that I saw. The towns are unusually austere and minimalist and the people seem so devoid of joy. As far as the nature goes there just wasn't anything I haven't seen in Washington state or Alaska. I've seen fjords just as impressive taking the inner passage. Seattle has a lot of problems but the natural beauty is just as impressive with more civilian infrastructure. I have old growth forests cascading down to the Pacific Ocean just an hours drive away. It's not to say Norway isn't a beautiful country, I'm sure someone from Kansas would be impressed. Ill leave the thread alone though.
