Not true. Most city dwellers were born somewhere else and migrated to the city to chase money. Money is literally all they care about. That's what makes the urban environment so bleak for those who want to experience the authentic traditional way of life. If you have a pile of money and want to be surrounded by limitless opportunities to spend it, then you'll love the city. Some cities do have pockets of traditional life remaining, but all too often the old towns are being sanitized and commercialized for touristic purposes.

You can't have an orderly society without coercive or manipulative control. Spending only a little and thereby remaining free of work obligations for an extended period of time makes travel seem worthwhile as an escape from the wagecage.
