Why be stuck in Branson why not do a grand tour of the Ozarks over 2 weeks and stay in 3 different areas to get a feel for different things?
>>

Go to Nam just don't go to da Nang. Youtubers and influencers have completely fucked the place in less than 5 years

Stop being a careerslave who has to be back to work in two weeks if you want to go to Vietnam. It's ironic how Americans have bigger incomes and more money than anywhere else on Earth, but somehow all they can manage is two weeks of free time per year. It's some kind of mindrape that convinces all Americans that they can't just quit their job and go live their travel dreams like heckin' Europoors do all the time. But you can.

Who gives a fuck about influencers. How does their presence change your trip? If anything, Vietnam used to be a very difficult country to visit, so stop glorifying 1990s Vietnam like it was some amazing experience. People were rude and hostile to foreigners for decades after the war. Price-gouging was universal. If you read travelogues from that era, very few foreigners enjoyed their trip.

Now Vietnam has become a lot easier and more enjoyable, even as prices remain moderate. People have learned Western-style friendly customer service, upfront pricing, and attractive business aesthetics. There's a much bigger diversity of foods and hotels to choose from. And yes, you can get away from the tourist crowds, sleep in non A/C slum rooms, and eat from dirty food stalls if you want to.

Sounds like your seething derives from being heightmogged on a regular basis by foreigners. Even white women heightmog you more often than not.
>eww white roasties I hate them, how can I enjoy myself when they are present!?!?
Sucks to be a manlet, kek

Is this really a fucking question?

Because I went to Danang 5 years ago it was peaceful. Now the chinese, Koreans and retard Bali crowd (yoga teachers, spiritual guides, youtubers, instagrammers) have all totally ruined beach side to the point you only see white people on China beach and prices have sky rocketed because of the over tourism
So shut the fuck up cunt you don't know jack shit

Like every single other problem presented in the US, it's all about healthcare. No one wants to jut outright quit their job because that means no healthcare.

I had a lot of fun at Silver Dollar City through the years. I have almost no memory of what the city proper is like though. Probably the better option if you are taking kids.

If it's summertime, there isn't a difference between Branson and Vietnam. Both are swamps with endless river systems filled with backwards people that speak funny. You should travel more. Newb.

Branson is full of obese people with deep suntans. Vietnamese are thin and hate sun exposure. I liked the more backwoods parts of the Ozarks for several reasons.
>Trees and forests everywhere
>Plenty of dispersed camping opportunities
>Very little traffic on the back roads
>Friendly people if you cared to stop for a chat
>That comfy feeling of being surrounded by nothing but USA for a thousand miles in every direction
I flew in from Taiwan after five months in Asia, took the train to Colorado, started up my van after it had been parked all winter, and headed east across the countryside. The contrast between all that Asian urbanity and the comfy spacious feeling of rural America in springtime was half of what made it enjoyable. American back roads are some of the most beautiful cruises on Earth. Ironically, back roads are in much better condition than the principal routes in America, so driving is like a dream. Plus that feeling of being independent for a change, not having to constantly be negotiating rooms and food and transport with strangers.

OTOH Asian urbanity is an enjoyable contrast after you've been bored to tears for years in middle America. Going to Branson isn't going to scratch that travel itch.

Yeah, you got syphilis eating away your brain. Nothing is going to stop the itch.

Any place in the Ozarks is better than Branson. Maybe you’ll find a cheap motel there or a place to eat but unless you’re looking for a downscale hillbilly Vegas, avoid it. I like the Arkansas side of the Ozarks and there's endless waterfalls, caves, hiking trails, floatable rivers and interesting small towns and backroads. Eureka Springs is an alternative to Branson if you’re looking for more people in one place. If you like nature and rural Americana you’ll enjoy the Ozarks.
>>
>>2883421
Yeah I tend to agree with this assessment. Northern Arkansas has some decent rafting around Hardy too.
If you want Hillbilly Vegas, then Hot Springs is cool too. IMO it's better to go when the Horse races are going on in the Winter and Early Spring though.
It can get really crowded if the weather is nice.

hello I would like some ozarks recommendations

Kek, this may be the most surreal /trv/ either-or I've seen on this board to date. What's next, Erie PA or Senegal for two weeks?

what's wrong with erie, pa?
seems like a nice quiet waterfront town

It’s been a while since I’ve been there but you won’t find sweeping views like in the Rockies or other big mountain ranges. Get to the top of one ridge and you’ll see the next ridge, kind of a midwestern Appalachians. Not to say it isn’t beautiful, just more low key.
Years ago I hiked a part of the Ozark Highlands Trail and since then they’ve extended it—heart of the Arkansas Ozarks and far from even the smallest towns. Nearby is Sam’s Throne, an outcropping you can reach with modest rock climbing skills that will give you sweeping vistas. Devil’s Den is a cool state park with caves and hikes. Anywhere along the Buffalo River is based, either for floating or nearby caves and waterfalls. The internet can probably tell you more than my fried memory.
>>
>>2883635
as sweeping as the ozarks get, I understand its not the rockies and thats fine with me
I found one view, forget the name, looking into the deepest part of plateau, hard ass drive on shit dirt road supposedly, but short hike - that's what I like

there's a good view of I wanna say the buffalo river but the hike is sketchy and you have to walk on the cliff's edge for a while and it's long
I'd like an easier view from above a river if possible
>devil's den
show caves? I like show caves.

>you can reach with modest rock climbing skills
um no
I've done scrambles but I prefer not to. Also I think you can get a good view nearby without going up the rock.

Well if anyone else thinks of something, it's kinda a dream of mine to hike in the Ozarks. It's like alt-world appalachia.

I did about 50 miles of this in the Boston Mountains segment and it was one of my favorite trails ever.

I went to Erie during a cross country road trip. It's INSANE. Just a wild unexpected place with crazy locals in the best way.
>>
>>2883508
Erie's very nice, I was just comparing a not often thought of second rate US destination with an exotic one like OP. Strange non sequitur

name something specific nice to see in Erie

other than that

Well... I guess it depends if I want to be a sexless incel surrounded by mouthbreathing rural retards and not even see a non-obese woman or a girl below the age of 25, much less even talk to one, for literal months on end except perhaps count my lucky dollars for the mandatory automobile dependant excursions to Wal-Mart with the antisocial cretins therein interspersed with an Amish troglodyte family in a tractor... or the alternative. Wow, sweeping views! I spent lengthy periods in both places. Sweeping views, lol.

>midwestern Appalachians
Geologically that’s exactly what they are, they’re believed to be an extension of the Appalachians that was intersected and eroded by the basin of the Mississippi. They’re quite a bit smaller than the Appalachians though but still quite nice scenery.

If this was really a serious choice I would go to Branson and the Ozarks just because I don’t have a SEA fetish and I think Pho is overrated. You can probably get it somewhere in Branson. The city lost its headliners from decades back because they either retired or died so the shows are mostly local talent. Lots of places closed in the last decade. The Branson Landing is a nice touristy shopping district. Silver Dollar City is the best thing there and even they de-emphasized the Branson name and replaced it with Ozarks in merch.

>they’re believed to be an extension of the Appalachians that was intersected and eroded by the basin of the Mississippi
I did not know that, I mean they LOOK that way visually just from the google terrain maps (having spent days of my living browsing the tru-appalachia section)

What do I see in Branson? I like bluegrass music and instrumentals but I don't care much for maudlin, twee pop-country which is I assume what it is. It would take me 2 days just to drive there and back to the Ozarks so I need to maximize my time.

im mostly into view-maxxing

It's late spring. All across America there are lots of country girls out enjoying the warm weather outdoors. They are wearing flirty summer clothes and looking for somebody young & fun & different to hang out with. Farmer's markets are kicking off, as are outdoor concerts and other events. Stop being such a fucking doomer. Every month in America isn't fucking February with everything dead and lifeless and frozen-ass cold.

any good bluegrass festivals?
I want something casual and low key
