Haven't read the comic, but the show feels like its lost its balls. Pretty much every character can survive even the most severe injuries, they pretty much need to have their head exploded to confirm death. The power scaling is also whack as hell all over the place. This episode Thragg could have easily killed every single invader without losing any of his Viltrumites, but let them die anyway along with his entire home planet being destroyed. Viltriumites in general feel nerfed as hell compared to what has been shown in prior episodes.

He saw that if he killed Mark no one would be willing to negotiate with them on Earth, the Coalition would just release the virus if necessary, in him he saw a living proof powerful Viltrumites can still be made he saw hope, it's a pretty humanizing moment for him ironically
