They changed the title of the spaceballs sequel. Boomer's can't do nothing right.

That target audience is now almost as big as your age group. You're living in the past

Oh, wow. Is this true? I'm glad to be outnumbered finally. Maybe I'll stop getting blamed for everything because I'm a middle aged white man.

The original was funny
the sequel probably won't be but I do have some slight hope, the new naked gun was good even if maybe not quite the same thing as the originals.
I still say though that spaceballs 2 shouldn't be a star wars parody at all, it should be a gundam one

Galaxy Quest is a loving homage to Star Trek and the culture around it while Space Balls is just lazy sex jokes on budget versions of star wars sets
I watched both again recently and space balls is just a bad movie

>A comedy sequel 40 years after the first one and is directed by a 100 year old man
Yeah this is gonna be good

>Surely the Producers made him obscenely wealthy?
A film from late 60's? Its from time when money spent on entertainment and profits from it were orders of magnitude smaller. Star cult as it is now didn't exist and even the biggest stars of era weren't insanely well compensated, sure more than average joes, nothing compared to today.

I'm vaguely optimistic about this actually. We're in a good place for a parody of SW and franchise slop, considering how bad it's all been for about ten years.
I mean, I don't think it'll be good, but they might get some good hits in.

>they didn't name it the joke from the first one
Fan entitlement. It was clearly a joke and the joke has been said over and over. I actually laughed when I saw the title "the new one" like, that's good and if you're not laughing now, you probably won't be later. Hopefully there be some "I clapped" moments for you in the movie.

My boomer coworker got really pissed when I told him I hadn’t seen any Mel Brooks so I spent a weekend watching Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, The Producers and Young Frankenstein and I didn’t laugh a single time. I told the boomer they suck and are just the boomer version of Date Movie-esque trash and he didn’t talk to me for two weeks lmao.

>>219792362
If Blazing Saddles can't make you laugh, then you're a fag, if Young Frankenstein can't make you life then you're a zoomer, if The Producers can't make you life then you are a loser, and if Spaceballs can't make you life then you don't understand word play. So given your statement and these facts I can safely say you are an illiterate zoomer fag

my only hope is this is "actually number 3" and they constantly reference ridiculous things that happened in the previous installment - including explanations for the lack of barf and dot matrix
that's fantasy booking however and i won't let that taint my judgement - i'll just let my judgement do that!

>my only hope is this is "actually number 3"
Knowing Brooks, it will probably be 7 or 8, considering this movie doesn't have a number.
It will be a vague sequel that no one will know exactly which number is.

I don't remember too much of spaceballs, and what I remember isn't too spiteful but you can always tell a difference between
>I Love it, I'll make fun of it because I love it
and
>haha look at this dorky shit, let's make a laugh about it
I like Mel Brook's schticks, but he's probably not a sci fi/star wars nerd like galaxyquest was for star trek. So he's making fun of something he knows of but isn't invested in. Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles or the producers goes over much better because he's clearly big into horror, westerns, or theatrical stuff. Same reason why pic related is funny for warhammer fans. Satire by actual honest fans of something always does better

Mel seems fine. Chuck Lorre is 95 and completely lucid, so is Shatner. John Lithgow is 80 and just signed on for that Harry Potter gig and everyone is certain that he will croak, even though he seems fine Not everyone turns to dust once becoming a geriatric. Whereas others will start dying in their 50s, or even late 40s. Genetics, lifestyle, etc.
