Recently watched Shinjuku Triad Society, which is one of Miike's early masterpieces. His tv show, MPD Psycho, is utterly amazing, it has all of his whimsy on display.

How to describe MPD Psycho... let's say you watched Manhunter and were dissapointed that Mann did not explore where his true talent lies, in atmospheric montages rather than purely procedural narrative. Well, MPD Psycho goes a few steps further and then jumps off a cliff and makes the landing.

First off Sorcerer isn't kino. It's a halfbaked remake of a great French film, Wages of Fear. The best thing about Friedkin was his unconstrained anger-mgmt problem. He was a valueless hack. Even his best film, French Connection, is mostly lifted from Z, the great pic by Costa-Gavras. So watch one of those films and don't you dare proclaim Friedkin is some kino-creating talent.
