Thread #219790867
Welcome to /slash/
Lets hear some of your favorites of the genre. Are there any over/under rated movies you wanna talk about?
What do you prefer, long franchises or one-offs?
Is anyone making anything good in the slasher genre today? I feel like a lot of contemporary slashers are too self-aware and winking to be fun.
POSTER: TERROR TRAIN
This one's pretty fun from what I remember, got a sleepy, low energy vibe that's pretty common in Canadian produced slashers of the era. Setting the whole thing at a frat party on new years on a train seems like maybe one too many gimmicks but having the killer roll through in a groucho mask kinda rocks.

Suspiria (poster) is a good image. Suspiria (soundtrack) is a good album. Suspiria (movie) is good for like the first 15 minutes.

Of that batch I only know
>Blood Rage
Was not into this but did like the stuff at the drive in theater
>New York Ripper
Love this one, probably Fulci's nastiest? Love Lucio in general and this one also hits the highs of pre-cleanup NYC that I find really interesting
>Terror Firmer
Fun meta-movie from Troma. Troma's super hit-or-miss for me because it's a bit too winking sometimes, but this one is good!
>Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers
Banger. Love Fred Olen Ray, Love Linnea Quigley, Simple As.
Of the other ones, what do you like best
