IDEA FOR A FILM THAT ACTUALLY COULD BE MADE WITH ZERO BUDGET AND WOULD BE COOL:

Collect every clip of Tom Cruise running.

Collect a bunch of clips of people saying random things, like "I hope he makes it in time" or "Where is he?"

Collect a bunch of random shots of a) clocks and b) signposts, showing how little time there is left, and how much distance still remains to be covered.

Now construct a loose story using all your clips, a la Run Lola Run.

Fill in any impossible plot gaps with straightfoward text cards, as in silent films. Like —

Stitch everything together.

Add a vigorous, pulsing soundtrack to emphasize the irresistible onward momentum of the story.
