The best active drummer is jimmy Chamberlin.

Most prog or hyper technical drummers cant make a good song for shit. Souless human sequencers automatons. Then you have drummers with better feel, ryhtm, composing/improv skills and soul, but more often than not dont have the technical skills of the automatons.

Then you have Chamberlin who is a solid 9/10 at both mechanical skills and soul. You can find one drummer that slightly surpasses him in one particular area, but you wont find a drummer that is as good as him in the overall result.
