Ridley's obsession with religion is going to kill this franchise. All he needed to do was keep the alien origin mysterious and the engineer just another species trying to meddle with it, instead we got that

Where's the originality in the engineers being the forefathers of the human race? That's just adding one more layer. Keeping the alien origin still mysterious after teasing their origin in the hands of engineers would've been original
