I'd like to think he banged on at least two other safehouses with people inside and they just ignored him so he kept running. He definitely knew they were in there and would not help him. Stupid little faggot got what he deserved and was infected while terrified, exhausted, nauseous from greedily hogging down all their food he could as quickly as possible - and then doomed to a life of constant pain and delirium. Being a zombie in those movies looks like it hurts, imagine the worst migraine you ever felt with a knife twisting in your guts and hallucinating feelings of bony fingers poking and scraping at you all over. And it never gets to end unless you can find someone who wants to inject a zombie with morphine. You're suffering that and shitting on yourself and chewing on rotten animal carcasses for the next few decades because it also refuses to just let infected die. That kid would not have been an alpha with breeding rights either - more like that shrieking retarded one with the broken ankle in The Bone Temple. He might be the only character in the franchise who deserves the full indignity of the virus, so I hope it's shown that he was infected rather than being savaged or outright killed in that cottage. One can only assume that even as an infected he would be a quisling and doing shit like screaming while the rest of the group is trying to sleep or track a deer or survivor.

You have to remember that beneath its arty veneer, 28 Days was still a trashy zombo film, with some soap opera-tier performances from the supporting cast. 28 Years was at least as good as its predecessor.
