Shirley Eaton > Honor Blackman
Also HB has the worst voice of any Bond Girl. I mean they dubbed half of them and they left this cement mixer filled with gravel speaking her own lines. Crazy.

By far the most overrated Bond film of the Connery, probably my least favorite of his. First 45 minutes are 10/10, and then after the iconic laser interrogation scene and Bond wakes up on the plane, it turns into this plodding prison escape flick about bond trying to escape from a kentucky ranch, which frankly isn't a very exotic or interesting location. The scene where Goldfinger gases the crime bosses is the only real highlight past the 45 minute mark
Also worst Felix Leiter

I would give Thunderball a 6/10 only because the Bond girls in that movie are top tier, aside from that it's just a slower longer version of Dr. No. The best Connery Bond films are Dr. No, From Russia with Love, andDiamonds Are Forever

Bond started to get a little stale with all of the underwater fighting. I get it, who wouldn't like to be paid to film a movie in a vacation paradise, but when every fight comes down to "swim up, and cut giant hose on their back"; it just doesn't work for more than one film

Been rewatching these all on Netflix and have to say wrong. Agree it slows down but the scenes with Goldfinger toying with bond are great. Besides, none of the bond movies are paced well especially the older ones
- thunderballs excessive underwater scenes are mind numbing
- diamonds are forever actually has kino henchmen but the final act with Blofelds plan goes off the rails
- OHMSS another overrated movie by nerds who like to pretend like they are original and saying this shit was good. “This never happened to the other guy” yea fuck off
- you only live twice actually underrated kino because queerbait media and reddit types pretend to be offended by the Japanese yellow face
- FRWL may be the goat but is less flashy than goldfinger
Entire Roger Moore catalog is objectively worse outside of Spy who loved me
So worst case Goldfinger is a top 5 bond film but imo if there’s one bond you show someone it’s this
Auric Goldfinger is probably the best villain in the franchise. Why? Because he’s such a greaseball he cheats at cards and golf lmao and he has bond by the balls that he’s just toying with him most of the movie. Not to mention odd job , and the best intro song in the franchise and you got a hell of a movie
Easily better than any bond film since and don’t say casino royale only thing anyone remembers from that movie is the testicle smashing scene

It's the worst film series, yes worse than Quantum, Spectre, Skyfall or No Time To Die. Casino Royale is the biggest piece of trash in the series and anyone who says they like it, you know you can ignore any and all of their opinions related to James Bond

Casino Royale is so embarrassed of the franchise it came from that watching it again it sticks out like a sore thumb how desperately it tried to blend in at the time with its contemporaries. Rips off Jason Bourne (trend at the time), has parkour (trend at the time), has a poker tournament (trend at the time), has the bodies exhibit (trend at the time). Not going to go full contrarian and say it wasn’t good but it’s not deserving of the top spot in the franchise.
Compare that to its predecessors that while silly at least stood on its own two feet. For as much as people love to shit on Die Another Day, it is more fun to revisit than the majority of Craig’s catalog

Dr No was the first
From Russia with Love was the 2nd. Then
Goldfinger. Then
Thunderstruck.
The first BOOK was Casino Royale which is now two movies.

it bugs me that Goldfinger is considered "the" Bond movie
it's like, "if you're gonna watch one, make it Goldfinger," and that's just not right
You Only Live Twice is the Bond movie for if you just want to watch one
it *is* better than Goldfinger, but YOLT has so much more Bondy stuff. it's got the version of Blofeld that Dr. Evil is based off of. it's got the volcano lair from the Hank Scorpio Simpsons episode
it's effectively got two Q sequences because Q brings Little Nelly and then Tiger Tanaka has his own gadget scene
it's got Thunderbirds miniatures for when Bond destroys SPECTRE helicopters which is The Correct Way To Do Bond Special Effects. it also has Shane Rimmer in a tiny role
when Goldfinger made Bond a phenomenon, they stumbled by bringing back Terence Young who did great with small budgets but didn't utilize a big budget well on Thunderball. Lewis Gilbert took an even bigger budget, and gave us a movie that looked like a trillion bucks
and YOLT isn't even my favorite Bond movie. it's just the Bondiest Bond movie
