Author doesn't appear to have any yuri cred but it has a few scenes with a level of closeness that would not unusual in non-yuri work so it is hard to say one way or the other. Looks like it will be a comfy subtext series at a minimum at least.

Preorders are up. Looks great and 24,250 yen is less than I expected although its still expensive since the shipping will be painful. Is it a good idea to preorder this now or is it safe to wait? I don't really want to drop that much money right now if it isn't shipping until 2027.

Do you mean if I did own all the previous volumes? I've done it on the rare occasion when it only meant re-buying a 2-3 volumes and the bonus was nice, but I skip it when it is a long series. If I didn't own the series at all yet then of course I'd buy the whole series at once and get the bonus.

not sure how you'd determine the rarity, but i have all the english Galette books + booklet/postcards released so far, some booth merch from morinaga and hakamada including signed canvases, all the girls last tour nendos including the kettenkrad, and an Adashima poster signed by the cast.
I also have the special edition bluray of 'a place further than the universe', and all the watamote plushies if you want to count those as yuri too

A bunch of signed and signed/illustrated books which are extremely difficult to enjoy since they don't display well and I don't want to ruin it by reading that copy. The illustrations on some of them are incredible but there's no good way to put that anywhere without risking damage. I have a few very low print run yuri items like framed art from an old yuri fair or kickstarter/campfire items. I think most yuri merch is generally rare in comparison to other things or it at least feels that way sometimes with how impossible it is to get some items after they sell out. The rarest yuri items I have are one of one hand drawn art shikishi which I was lucky enough to receive.

I thought so but I bought a single yuri book with buyee and the only shipping option they have is airmail at 6000 yen. It is a $10 book under 400 grams. What the fuck. I forward normally and only did this because there was no other easy way to buy from toranoana. Would have been cheaper buying from a scalper secondhand.

Update from last thread, but it turns out the high price really was because of the large amount of items on the order. $80 of it was the “entry-line charge after first 3 lines” fee, $20 combined for the PGA disclaimer fee and disbursement fee; and only about $20 for the actual tariffs. Absurd.

Sticking with Fedex for the time being now that it has DDP, hopefully my tariff exempt items stay properly exempt and they don't try to charge me for my manga.
Is ECMS doing DDP too?

Also apparently buyee has raised their fee from 300 to 500, for those that use that proxy

Good thing the scans of the "boyish" anthology are already out so we can see that fortunately and unexpectedly there are no draw-a-boy-call-it-a-girl characters in it so we can buy it without any worry.
Another good thing is that Amazon didn't block WataTabe's BD to be shipped abroad, unlike WataNare that remains unavaible for us poor bastards living outside of Japan. However now that it's complete I can finally make my bulk order using a proxy to get it, AyaHiro 2, Kanojo no kuchidzuke kansen suru libido and a couple of other stuff blocked by Amazon, maybe I'll throw inside a few doujinshi too but I'm worried about fees and shipping costs considering the current world situation. I've received an email by ZenMarket telling me they're increasing prices but fortunately only for auctions (for now).

the paper bonuses that come with manga (not postcards, but the thin slip of paper), are weird. i have no idea what to do with them so i just place them between the pages

WataTabe's BD is a very cheap edition, it doesn't have a real box but it's just a cardboard band with no bottom so shit falls through it, but it has the best extra I've seen in a lot of time: cards with the endcards illustrations and an extra manga chapter (though the story wasn't yuri-focused).

99% of the time, no. Most bookstore bonuses are one print run that sells out around the release date. If it is a popular series it may have a 2nd wave reprint immediately after it runs out, or if it gets an anime or something they may reprint the bonus for the entire series as a bulk purchase bonus.

Yeah some of the less popular items sit around for a long time. I've picked up months old bonus items like acrylics or special edition volumes on occasion and always feel like I was lucky to catch it in time. Sadly I still miss out on new releases occasionally since some things sell out a week or two before their release date. Just missed out on an acrylic I wanted this month but I buy too many anyway so I've stopped feeling the sting as much.

I haven't shipped any of my yuri since october but now is the time to send it home. I have about 45kg of merch, manga, doujinshi and so much yuri goodness coming this month that I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
