It does have quite a few differences though. Penacony is a lot more "solemn" and dark, while Planacardia is extremely colorful. Well, a dreamy atmosphere in Penacony I suppose?

The issue is the old characters are characters they never gave us much reason to like. Why should I like Blade? Why should I like SW? The game is banking on us already liking them and that being enough. It didn't work that well for Sparxie and I don't see it working well for SW or Blade either. Maybe Himeko if she is meta thanks to the whales, but even she is a massive issue. For 3 years she's been a background character and now all of a sudden I'm supposed to care about her and her backstory. For all its flaws Amphoreus at least tried to focus on a new cast instead of overly relying on alters and expies like Planarcadia

Yeah, I quit the game around that time and came back on a whim during the sparkle banner and I have never been more in love with the game than I am right now. Part 2 yuri has been insanely good so far

After that CNY event (!) which ended in a KiaMei Hollywood kiss, with Bronya's coming DK in 8.8, YY as a new AstralOp to go along with her, a free Sena which shares Bronya's and YY's Astral Ring type and, as the main dish for that whole team that MHY offers you with that, Seele in 8.9, I have sky high expectations.
A return to form, once again, that mini puzzle event already teased a bit of BronSeele. 2 patches worth of Bronya and Seele, I can't wait!

Honkai Impact is just the treat that keeps on giving. After that awkward start of part 2, they really doubled down and tripled down. I mean, it's not just CNY all about Kiamei or how this Bronseele team is set up, once again mixing the couple dynamic into the gameplay (which is something Kiamei also have with direct buffs in Mei's kit that only trigger with Kiana at her side), it's also the new part 2 girls. Everybody will tell you about Helia's arc and her fight against the vengeful spirit to overcome her own insecurities (and to be enough for Coralie... unaware that she has always been enough already as she is), but it was Coralie's sacrifice for Helia that triggered both of their arcs, Coralie's final trial for immortality is literally a dating sim about Helia, and her rejection of that immortality because she just wants to return home, to Helia, and them living that sweet mundane togetherness ever after, that's just beautiful. And if you look closely, the signs were already there when they were first introduced, even if they were very subtle.
Yeah... I loved part 1 and now I love part 2.

I'm conflicted about Thelema and Songque.
On one hand, it's fun to see their master and pet dynamic, something more playful and daring.
On the other hand, it feels shallow and like pure fanservice since it's so noncommittal compared to other couples. It was just to characterize Thelema, just an episode.

They're the mars character with the most focus out of the alien trio ?The first 4 chapters are centered around Songque and Songlema is very prevalent in 2/3/3-EX, and they're also in the Thelema's side quest, and they still get a good chunck of focus in the Corelia arc

Everyone else in the game is devoted to one woman exclusively, but Thelema talks as if all of her servants are her pets, it's not just Que. Did they really have that much more screen time? The way I remember it, Thelema mostly left after her little part in the story was told with the EX chapter.

This is genuinely one of the worst takes I've ever read, but I will try to walk through it anyway
The idea that Thelema isn't devoted to songque is absolutely ludicrous.
In chapter 3, she verbatim tell songque that she would give up on the entire planet if Songque asked her to.
The idea that she would do this for anyone else, is insane, and it's reinforced in the chapter 4 AU where Thelema once again goes against her entire family and become songque exclusive agent and support her acting career (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F268MeI1jVQ&t=8407s) and we know from chapter 9EX that Songque wanting to act is also something in the main timeline and Thelema witnessed Songque's acting when they were young and Thelema was captivated by her and wanted to support her since then

Thelema accept absolute obedience from her servant, but she accept everything that songque does, like another example being the birthday surprise that Songque made for her in chapter 5 (https://youtu.be/4DJpenh3Xlo?t=8653) or how she went to look for Duonigue in 9EX despite being injured and having an arm dislocated just because she promised Songque
Thelema is also incredibly shy around Songque, like in 9-EX, where she try to give a gift to Songque through DS, in their summer outfit description, where Thelema can't look Songque in the eyes after getting complimented and has to run off after the shoot due to her blushing hard or when she get an almost full face blush when she ask Songque to address her casually because she DONT want her relationship with Songque to be pet and servant. She uses this as an excuse to be able to help Songque without Songque refusing due to her pride.
DS even compare them to a broken up couple when they argue about Thelema injury when Songque get worried about her
Thelema is also incredibly jealous of the fact that Songque tend to listen to Baiji's advice more often than she accept her help

And because of my blindness, I considered the outfits to be pure fanservice, you know, with them locked behind the gacha. Even though the visual language of the outfits themselves really says everything. And therefore, the texts that come with it reinforce what the story already said, it's not just something new to bait spending.
