I hadn't noticed until someone pointed it out, but Evanescia's line when she meets Himeko makes it seem like they met in the previous Phastasmoon Game. I wonder if she is involved in whatever cured the Withering Curse That's enough for me to ship them.
>>4547169 >same shit from 2 fucking years ago that's not even featured in the actual game Should I really feel elated about this? It's so tiresome at this point
>>4547192 I think it's fairly evident that the devs have mostly given up on this game and are only using it as a means to squeeze as much money from the whale part of the community as possible
>>4547195 The jokes they are making in the game all feel so outdated too. Plus this just feels like Penacony 2.0 rather than its own brand new experience. Seriously if someone stopped playing since Penacony and I showed them a video of Planarcadia they would think its just a new Penacony area. It feels lazy
>>4547197 It does have quite a few differences though. Penacony is a lot more "solemn" and dark, while Planacardia is extremely colorful. Well, a dreamy atmosphere in Penacony I suppose? Then there's a lot of typical Japanese culture stuff, like manga, robots and all that stuff that Penacony doesn't have at all.
Gotta be extremely superfluous to not think it's quite different.
>>4547192 They fixed none of the Amphoreus problems, which is a surprise to me as well. They were aware it's bad, added a skip function.. and then proceeded as if nothing is a problem into 4.0. You can only get carried by liking the older characters pretty much.
>>4547275 >You can only get carried by liking the older characters pretty much. The issue is the old characters are characters they never gave us much reason to like. Why should I like Blade? Why should I like SW? The game is banking on us already liking them and that being enough. It didn't work that well for Sparxie and I don't see it working well for SW or Blade either. Maybe Himeko if she is meta thanks to the whales, but even she is a massive issue. For 3 years she's been a background character and now all of a sudden I'm supposed to care about her and her backstory. For all its flaws Amphoreus at least tried to focus on a new cast instead of overly relying on alters and expies like Planarcadia
>>4547325 Speaking of yuri in gacha games in reallt looking forward to this one. I like how the male MC is all but forgotten and they are using the FMC in all the marketing.
>>4547325 Starved for scenes of the characters I like, not even just these 2 and not just yuri. I've already done HI3 part 1 and have no interest if there's no Kiamei. Part 2's setting and story looks boring, and HI3's technobabble traumatized me. R1999's gameplay looks even worse than HSR.
>>4547350 Everything in P2 (post Ch3) is easily better than Part1. And we just got a full KiaMei event story this patch. I’ve been playing for almost 8 years and HI3’s current state is the best it has ever been for yuri. To think I was on the verge of quitting during the P1.5 Hua arc + first few chapters of P2…
>>4547672 >To think I was on the verge of quitting during the P1.5 Hua arc + first few chapters of P2… Yeah, I quit the game around that time and came back on a whim during the sparkle banner and I have never been more in love with the game than I am right now. Part 2 yuri has been insanely good so far
>>4547674 After that CNY event (!) which ended in a KiaMei Hollywood kiss, with Bronya's coming DK in 8.8, YY as a new AstralOp to go along with her, a free Sena which shares Bronya's and YY's Astral Ring type and, as the main dish for that whole team that MHY offers you with that, Seele in 8.9, I have sky high expectations. A return to form, once again, that mini puzzle event already teased a bit of BronSeele. 2 patches worth of Bronya and Seele, I can't wait!
>>4548041 I know it's different Hoyo writers and teams but its crazy how we went from this to Hiyo being too scared just to say Navia and Clorinde or Dehya and Candace are dating, ZZZ leaning more towards Wise over Belle, and HSR not having one really good yuri ship in years.
>>4548071 Honkai Impact is just the treat that keeps on giving. After that awkward start of part 2, they really doubled down and tripled down. I mean, it's not just CNY all about Kiamei or how this Bronseele team is set up, once again mixing the couple dynamic into the gameplay (which is something Kiamei also have with direct buffs in Mei's kit that only trigger with Kiana at her side), it's also the new part 2 girls. Everybody will tell you about Helia's arc and her fight against the vengeful spirit to overcome her own insecurities (and to be enough for Coralie... unaware that she has always been enough already as she is), but it was Coralie's sacrifice for Helia that triggered both of their arcs, Coralie's final trial for immortality is literally a dating sim about Helia, and her rejection of that immortality because she just wants to return home, to Helia, and them living that sweet mundane togetherness ever after, that's just beautiful. And if you look closely, the signs were already there when they were first introduced, even if they were very subtle. Yeah... I loved part 1 and now I love part 2.
What's the odds Alice either won't become playable or flops because she has a husband? I feel like that will alienate a lot of yuri fans and also people who self insert at the same time. Shame too, sine they made her have such a good relationship with Nicole.
I'm conflicted about Thelema and Songque. On one hand, it's fun to see their master and pet dynamic, something more playful and daring. On the other hand, it feels shallow and like pure fanservice since it's so noncommittal compared to other couples. It was just to characterize Thelema, just an episode.
>>4548495 Klee and Prune are so cute. I like the fact Klee gets Prune in trouble with her. I wish they mentioned Prune before and how they are confinement partners.
>>4548476 >since it's so noncommittal How in earth is thelema/songque noncommital? >>4548581 They're the mars character with the most focus out of the alien trio ?The first 4 chapters are centered around Songque and Songlema is very prevalent in 2/3/3-EX, and they're also in the Thelema's side quest, and they still get a good chunck of focus in the Corelia arc
>>4548589 Everyone else in the game is devoted to one woman exclusively, but Thelema talks as if all of her servants are her pets, it's not just Que. Did they really have that much more screen time? The way I remember it, Thelema mostly left after her little part in the story was told with the EX chapter. Please tell me I'm wrong and I misremember, I really want to be wrong and want more of them.
>>4548605 This is genuinely one of the worst takes I've ever read, but I will try to walk through it anyway The idea that Thelema isn't devoted to songque is absolutely ludicrous. In chapter 3, she verbatim tell songque that she would give up on the entire planet if Songque asked her to. The idea that she would do this for anyone else, is insane, and it's reinforced in the chapter 4 AU where Thelema once again goes against her entire family and become songque exclusive agent and support her acting career (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F268MeI1jVQ&t=8407s) and we know from chapter 9EX that Songque wanting to act is also something in the main timeline and Thelema witnessed Songque's acting when they were young and Thelema was captivated by her and wanted to support her since then
Thelema accept absolute obedience from her servant, but she accept everything that songque does, like another example being the birthday surprise that Songque made for her in chapter 5 (https://youtu.be/4DJpenh3Xlo?t=8653) or how she went to look for Duonigue in 9EX despite being injured and having an arm dislocated just because she promised Songque Thelema is also incredibly shy around Songque, like in 9-EX, where she try to give a gift to Songque through DS, in their summer outfit description, where Thelema can't look Songque in the eyes after getting complimented and has to run off after the shoot due to her blushing hard or when she get an almost full face blush when she ask Songque to address her casually because she DONT want her relationship with Songque to be pet and servant. She uses this as an excuse to be able to help Songque without Songque refusing due to her pride. DS even compare them to a broken up couple when they argue about Thelema injury when Songque get worried about her Thelema is also incredibly jealous of the fact that Songque tend to listen to Baiji's advice more often than she accept her help
>>4548610 Wow, I'm genuinely thankful for your answer, you even linked a channel I'm subscribed to, I should have really known. You're totally right and I was mistaken. How did I forget about this? I usually believe that I read carefully. Her phrasing about Langqiu... that's more or less exactly what Mei said as well to Kiana. And because of my blindness, I considered the outfits to be pure fanservice, you know, with them locked behind the gacha. Even though the visual language of the outfits themselves really says everything. And therefore, the texts that come with it reinforce what the story already said, it's not just something new to bait spending. Yes, you were right. Thank you, I feel as if I can appreciate them much more now. I'm sorry that I was so retarded with what I claimed.
>>4549602 In HSR even some plot points are noncommittal. They just drop a tiny hint, refuse to elaborate and let the player imagine the rest of the story, or they are only gonna address that shit 10 years later. Like I understand some foreshadowing, but not when it's separated for 100+ hours of the actual plot it's hinting. I'm still pissed about learning fuckall about Evernight in Amphoreus when she should have been one of the main focuses of the planet. I can't even expect them to finish explaining it on the supposed future Garden of Recollection arc, since they will need to shill new characters and I find it hard to believe she will get a new SP. Non-shilled characters get nothing.
>>4549602 Honk is different. Songque and Thelema are different as explained in the posts following the one you quoted. Of course not every relationship is that of lovers, but it's the story of lovers that drives the plot forward.
Perhaps I was too harsh on Pinky. (Recommended team: Bronya with her new DK, Seele with her DK and Pink Elf) Even if the new Seele battlesuit just arrives in 8.9, that new kit for Bronya in 8.8 apparently (according to CN? And/or it was Bronya buffs for the new Seele) has specific Seele dependent buffs so that, once again, there's proper gameplay yuri integration. You can't run a valk without her girlfriend, that would be crazy.
>>4549952 >>4550023 The funny thing is, while I have seen the usual "all girls are waifu" types naturally latching onto his presence, I've largely learned to just tuned that garbage out, and otherwise more people actually seem to be focusing on Firefly/Silver Wolf.
I'm actually more annoyed that people are emphasizing him more for "Stellaron Hunters as family" stuff as a result of the trailer than hetslop for once.
>>4550145 It's really funny how Seth x Jane went very silent and the normies got mad over Hoyoverse love over Yuri couples. I mean Belle is a sex goddess to all the girls around her.
>>4550187 >Anything after genshin you could make a point that everything starting with Genshin is modern Hoyo since Genshin already has that self-insert and mixed gender cast.
>>4550140 >>4550199 To the extent it counts as yuri, Stellefly is the most popular by a WIDE margin, then Acheswan, then Starch, then a rough tie between KafHime and BronSeele for 4rd.
In terms of shallowness, they're both pretty nothing, but at least Acheswan gets pretty consistently referenced even if they don't actually develop a relationship at all. KafHime just like, are on the screen at the same time once a year and that's it.
>>4550218 What metric are you using? Some ships don't have much art, but have many fics, Kafhime is the second place in AO3, and Cerylens also has a lot of stories
And yeah, Cerysilens is getting up there, already at about 7th right now, behind KafStelle and HertaMei? Ciphlaea is up there too outside the anglosphere.
>>4550258 Its funny that Aglaea x Cipher is almost beaten out by Cipher x Castorice.
>>4550218 I don't think Acheron x Black Swan is the second. I'd argue Himeko x Kafka and Starch are more popular. They have more fanart and fanfics. I'd even argue Hysilens and Cerydra is more popular based on the amount of fanfics.
HSR 4.2: Silver Wolf x Kafka still lives. And Yao x Eva had some cute and decent interactions, the ship actually works. As for the story itself, the first half was good, the second was ass
>>4552228 I don't get the people who feel the need to try and see how popular their ship is. Its like they are insecure and need reassurance that they are right to ship someone because others do. I'm also 100% sure those numbers aren't accurate.
>>4552228 They are retards though, so their opinion doesn't matter and has nothing to do with quality. Ganqing is one of the blandest ships in history and is still on that list. I say this even though one of my OTPs is on the first place and I like some of the other ships.
>>4552228 >>4552544 "My source is I made it the fuck up". Seriously anons anyone could put random numbers down and say those numbers are facts. I'm less surprised by the post and more surprised that anyone believes its true.
>>4552228 That's based on views through a tag though, rather than the content of said tag, which speaks more to FotM hype than enduring popularity. And I say that as someone delighted to see their OTP near the top.
>>4552544 >>4552738 If that post was true it have way more than 10 likes and would actually have some comments. It's clearly them talking out their ass anon
>>4552870 It also doesn't take into account many ships go by many different names. Stelle x March shippers for example call the ship both Starch and Stellemarch. You'd have to have immense autism to have the time to add in all those factors as well.
>>4552912 To be fair this stat was done on the chinese fanbase, I think they tend to have more fixed ship names and only change based on top/bottom bullshit. And obviously they aren't calling any ship Starch
>>4552949 People keep mentioning the stat as if its accurate. Is anyone actually doing research to confirm this or are people willing to play along because their ship is "popular"
Soooo, what you hear from China is that 8.8 and chapter 12 are all about BronSeele and it's the start of 2 patches back to back about their relationship. Bronya has buffs for Seele, the multipliers in her kit reference their first meeting, Seele's birthday, and such. Then again, I don't speak CN so I can't confirm any of this.
>>4553321 Chapter 12 is out in full in CN and nothing in it is about Bronseele, though, and the event isn't about her either, but Bronya locked skills does have the reference to Seele you mentionned, yeah
>>4555295 meh, they should have made yukong the girl real mom too, the universe is so advanced, it should be possible for two woman to have babies with each other be it with magic or nanomachine.
>>4555314 I don't know anything about Genshin. If that's her mom, who's her other mom? Yes, I know that Little Sena, little Leylah or the little Vitas aren't their science babies, but I will not let better knowledge correct my feelings of how adorable and wholesome kids are.
>>4555479 Oh, I must have misunderstood. Those two on that image do look pretty similar, though. Their outfits are interesting, that purple hair looks majestic and the little one is adorable.
>>4556275 >>4556431 they knew what they were doing when writing her, so I don't think they'll be retarded enough to retroactively ruin the games most beloved WQ, especially in a version that's already had a ton of yuri
I finished the new story chapter and it's true, there is no BronSeele. However, isn't this the start of yet another take on the Rebellion story? Sena as that benevolent and untouchable Goddess, Leylah as the evil (?) demon who rewrites the rules of the universe to save the woman she loves.
>>4559110 It's kind of hard to read Sena as benevolent and untouchable when she want to fuck the girl she raised and she has multiples fantasy about it
>>4560147 This is arguably one ot the gayest things in Genshin. There's literally no arguing against Jeht being the gayest Genshin character to date. Is this the first time a character is in love with just the female MC in a gacha game?
>>4560415 >Jeht's back and still has unique interactions showing a preference for Lumine >Nefer gets a reunion with her ex-roommate >Dunyarzad showing up with Dehya >Collei/Sucrose reunion >Sandrone leaks showing she has a whole idle dedicated to being tsun for Columbina This patch week has been an absolute feast goddamn.
>>4560147 6.x has been way too gay to turn the gayest character in Genshin bi. I knew we had nothing to fear. It is funny watching Aether players try so hard to downplay the fact that there's a woman in love with just Lumine.
>>4560334 I feel like all the people trying to be negative are hetfags trying to stir up hate for no reason
>>4560483 Given how Lunar-charged works, they should work decently well together, but I dunno any details about Stellar-conduct, so there might be issues given it's such an unknown right now
>>4560490 From the way it sounds is that whenever the reaction happens, a circle gets established that, while inside, makes the stellar char convert their attacks to stellar damage. No idea how long the circle lasts.
>>4560526 I feel like Stelle is the only character Kafka would do something silly like this for. It would be nice to see a moment where she drops her guard fully and we find out Stelle got her goofy personality from being around Kafka.
>>4560422 NTA but after that one time ZZZ went all in on Wise pandering for a few patches I've kept my expectations low. Even if they went back to omnipandering after a while the intent was clear and I don't trust them to not to pull some shit again.
>>4560579 Why would you believe Hoyo would ruin Jeht when they went out of their way at every chance they were given to make Jeht explicitly gay just for Lumine? I can understand maybe Citlali or Ayaka, but not Jeht.
>>4560671 nta but the fear is precisely in response to characters like Ayaka and Citlali. Essentially the concern is that, in promoting her from a side quest to main quest character due to her popularity, they'd attempt to make her "more marketable" like obvious waifu characters, rather than doubling down on what made her popular in the first place.
Luckily, those fears were misplaced here, but that's not likely to stop them from persisting in other cases.
>>4560676 >those fears were misplaced here yet another anon and even though I agree to your description of the situation, a bit of caution is always necessary.
I think people forget just how crazy some of the dialog differences are in Jeht's WQ series, they weren't going to retcon it. >>4560671 >just for Lumine? she'd still be gay if Lumine didn't exist tbf
>>4560676 Jeht is playable so we had no worries. Hoyo doesn't care about making npc characters really gay. For example that woman that is in love with Ningguang.
>>4560685 The conversation was about being afraid they'd make her into Aether as well. The reason I said "just for Lumine" is because I was stating between the siblings Jeht is in love with Lumine.
>>4564045 I like the implication that Kafka either knows Stelle has used a strapon on Firefly, has had sex with Stelle and Stelle used a strapon on her, or was the one that gave Stelle a strapon to use on Firefly. How else would she know Stelle's strapon size
Anyone else getting tired of how HSR tells its story? This yapping with 1 or 2 fights thrown in there in each patch is making the game tedious to play. I skipped all the dialogue in this recent patch to find out the only fight in it is the boss fight. What's happened to this game? Why are the devs prioritizing the annoying platforming mini game over actual battles to tell the story?
>>4564509 Asian writers have a really fucking annoying tendency to think more words = better and always pick telling over showing and they really don't get enough flak for it.
>>4564600 Yes. The Blade arc is proof of this. Why is Stelle there worried about him? They've had no meaningful interactions up to the 4.x story. As much as I don't care for him it should've been Dan Heng there not Stelle. The game tells us Stelle is close to these characters, but doesn't show us. It tells us Stelle is this central figure, but spends all the story on others. It makes the story a chore to get through.
>>4564602 I assume they count the shit interaction Stelle usually have with others character when playing minigames, ridiculous, but that's must be their logic otherwise the writers are crazy.
>>4564509 I want to hope Planarcadia's story is meh because of the possible rewrites, but I doubt it's the only factor. I wouldn't even mind the lack of battles if the plot was good. I'm tired of Assveil and Balde, the later already had focus on Xianzhou, they should prioritize developing the characters who got fucked over first. They managed to sideline even an Abundance Emanator who is one of the most important people in the whole planet and interacted with Aha.
