Rock and Metal was purposefully strangled by the music industry because it proved too much of a liability. It's VASTLY harder to control a band than it is to control a solo artist, they want more money, they fight among themselves, or they band together and fight the producers. Rock and Metal bands also had a history of being anti-establishment and it was mainly white men who are harder to control. Rap and pop music was mainly low income blacks and women who proved easier to deceive and control. A couple of black artists like Michael Jackson and Prince grew wise to what was going on and tried to control their own music and OOPS suddenly these artists are problematic and "difficult to work with"

Glowniggers may or may not have been involved since music is an excellent tool for brainwashing, but either way solo artists just have way higher profit margins
