My theory is that there won't be very many games that can only be played on the PS6. PS2 Emotion Engine and PS3 CELL were nightmares for programmers. the only people who actually got to use it to its full potential were Naughty Dog. People also forget that the reason Sony was so insistent on pushing their custom in the PS2 and PS3 was because they had plans to license out the Emotion Engine and Cell technology for other uses beyond video game consoles.

Kutaragi wanted the PS3 to ship with 1 cell as a cpu and 1 cell as a gpu. Mark Cerny is fucking insane for STILL having only himself know exactly how the PS3 worked and never sharing it with anyone aside from those secret CELL developers at Sony.

Mark Cerny wanted PS4, PS5, PS6 and PS7 to be AMD APUs because it was cheapest and easiest for programmers. any optimizations done for PS4 will just help PC get further ahead. ps4 and ps5 are both x86-64

FX-8350 @2GHz, a HD 7850 and a 5000 RPM hard drive are roughly equivalent to a PS4.

Ryzen 7 3700X and an RX5700 which are roughly equivalent to a PS5. Sony has the Tempest audio engine and the Kraken compression blocks. PS5 SSD read speed 5,558MB.

I hate that I have to go and get a PS3 again to play my old game library. There's a lot of good games stuck on the PS3 and I don't just mean exclusives, but multiplat games that were never ported to PS4 either.

Based retard. Programming has gone from 16bit to 32 to 64 and sony was also stupid enough to use RISC which no one outside of ARM even knows how to code for. Non of these things are inherently compatible with each other.

Mark cerny admitted that they designed the ps3 to be hard to use on purpose and only their own devs got all the documentation because they wanted the first party games to be the best looking. It was a retarded idea and cerny has always been a hack. The ps4 and ps5 are all thanks to amd because the consoles use mostly standardised components.
